Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna France. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Brianna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope that I will be remembered for my strong faith in God. Also, I try not to let other people’s fears dictate my life. For example, I chose to study photography in college even though multiple people told me to change majors. I decided to act on faith and pursue it. I knew photography was what I wanted to do and I trusted that God would work things out in my favor. Now I own a photography business that will continue to grow. I want future generations to hear my story and know that if God can do it for me, then He can do it for them. We have to make the most of this life and I believe that the best way to do that is by trusting God and following our dreams despite what others have to say about it.

Brianna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Brianna France and I am a lifestyle and portrait photographer. My business is called Pretty SIC Pics. SIC stands for “Smile… It’s Contagious.” I came up with that name because I firmly believe that a smile is a great way to boost your mood. Since I mainly work with people, I want there to be genuine smiles and happiness throughout the whole session. My thinking is that if one person is smiling, then it will trigger everyone else to smile too. This is also why I decided to become a lifestyle photographer. I love being able to capture people’s true personalities so that they will always have that memory to look back on.
Growing up, I was always into art and I used to draw and write all of the time. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I found my love for photography. I was a program called MINDDRIVE and that was where I learned how to use a DSLR camera and the basics of taking photos. When I got to college, I started teaching myself how to edit and use Photoshop. From there, my skills just continued to grow.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Personally, I think one of the most rewarding aspects is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. I think this is important because it doesn’t put limitations on my creativity. Another thing that I think is rewarding is when the project is finished. There is nothing better than seeing an idea that started off in my head come to life. I think the best part is seeing that I have what it takes to make things happen. This combined with the fact that there isn’t a right or wrong way allows me to dream bigger. As a creative, I am not afraid to take risks and think outside of the box, and I think those are important traits for life in general.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I would say that a helpful resource from a local source comes from Rye, the owner of The RYE Studios. She gave me so much insight on what it looks like to run a successful photography business. She was open to answering all of my questions, and she gave me tips on which tools helped her become a better photographer. Rye continues to help out when I need it. I like that she is supportive of my journey and wants me to succeed.
The helpful resources from someone non-local come from Tiffany Aliche (aka The Budgetnista). I am one of her mentees and she provides so many behind the scenes tips on what it takes to run a successful business. I love that she has advice for any stage of the entrepreneurial journey that you may be on. She doesn’t just talk about finances, but she also talks about networking and branding yourself. I also like that she incorporates God in her testimonies.
Aside from Rye and Tiffany, I also listen to podcasts, read books and watch videos by people who are not only entrepreneurs, but who have also used faith and prayer to help get them to where they are today.
