Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brianna Cook. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brianna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I firmly believe that my business began at the perfect time. Transitioning from a full-time employee to a full-time entrepreneur was not an easy process. Unfortunately, I faced a life-altering situation with a family member, which prompted me to leave my traditional job. Mentally, I doubted my ability to succeed as a full-time entrepreneur, especially given the additional challenges life had just presented. However, the experience taught me that when you feel like you have nothing left to give, you often find that you still do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I often describe myself as a “God-taught” dressmaker, specializing in bridal and prom gowns. My sewing journey began in 2019 after discovering a seamstress who crafted her own clothes on YouTube. As a naturally creative individual, I was immediately inspired to start making my own garments. This led me to develop a deep passion for designing special occasion evening gowns, where I became captivated by exquisite trims, fabrics, and intricate embellishments.
In 2021, I took a leap of faith and transitioned into full-time entrepreneurship. This journey has revealed much about myself, both the strengths and the challenges. I quickly learned that discipline was a skill I needed to develop, and I often struggled with fear and the opinions of others. However, it wasn’t until I stepped beyond my boundaries and truly believed in my potential, trusting that I was created to do exactly what I am doing, that my business began to flourish.
One key factor that sets me apart from other designers is my meticulous attention to detail. I am not daunted by the time it takes to meticulously execute elaborate dress designs. My clients consistently note that my professionalism is another distinguishing factor. I am wholeheartedly committed to bringing each client’s custom dress vision to life with the utmost care and precision.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been consistently providing a professional customer service experience. This approach has not only fostered client loyalty but has also generated new business through client referrals. I’ve learned that success isn’t solely about delivering “perfect work,” as that is often unrealistic. Rather, it’s about handling challenges when they arise and taking responsibility as the business owner to resolve any issues.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Social media has undoubtedly been the most effective source of new clients for me. It has enabled me to expand my reach and build a community of supporters, which has significantly contributed to the growth of my business.
