We were lucky to catch up with Brianna Castillo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brianna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Red is a striking color that can make a bold statement. The idea of incorporating more red into trends for 2025 is an interesting concept. Red eyebrows, in particular, would be a very daring choice. It would be fascinating to see how such a trend might evolve and be embraced. Those who dare to wear red brows would certainly turn heads. The combination of red and pink is surprisingly striking. This color pairing feels fresh and unexpected. Imagine a soft pink eyeshadow blended delicately across the eyelid. Then, a bold red lip, perfectly applied, adds a touch of drama. This playful combination is both feminine and powerful. It’s a wonderful way to embrace color in a sophisticated way. I believe that we are into our blush era and the girlys will be very creative with how they apply the product. With hair, I see the trend of going darker and for the blondes a more natural root blended into a more honey blonde. The butterfly cut is going to be a staple for the layer lovers and for my short hair girlys I believe blunt bobs will be the new rave.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Brianna Castillo I am the artist behind Beats by Bri. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and MUA. I got into the Beauty industry because of my love and compassion for the artistry and creativeness of it all. I work along side with other business professionals such photographers as well as other beauty professionals. You can find me on socal media on platforms such as Facebook Instagram and snapchat.I take pride in all I do while staying grounded and remaining humble. Doing makeup is my passion but I also have a love for hairstyling. Other services i offer are brow shaping, laminating, and tinting.I believe I’m a one stop shop and am able to do it all. I love that I’ve been so blessed to make my clients feel so beautiful in their own skin. Confidence plays a big part in the beauty industry and you have to have it in order to give it.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I would say that being myself is something that helps. I love being an open ear. Have ever heard the saying “you never really know what others are going through”? My clients I feel know that with me it’s a safe space to unwind and relax and just let go. Hair i feel holds trauma and when someone is ready for a big chop I’m there. For me my clientele grew by word of mouth at first. My clients are my walking billboards. Joking…but yes my clients would say hey I have a cousin who wants to book with you.or something along the lines of that. I later then started displaying my work on social media. From then on my clientele has grown tremendously.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Staying true to who you are and knowing your worth. Not everyone wants to see you succeed in you career and will test you. Working so hard for something you love to do isnt worth losing because of people who want to see you fail. Im a really easy person to be around and talk to and I believe that’s helped build my reputation along with being on time to my appointments and my everyday work always speaks for itself.
