We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brianna Ballerini. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brianna below.
Brianna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I’ve been doing extra work in music videos, shows, and films since I was a child. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I took the leap and decided to start putting out content on the internet. I was struggling with deciding if putting myself out there on YouTube and other platforms would be worth it in the long run. I was thinking, what will my friends and family think? Am I going to be judged? Am I going to be made fun of? Then something clicked and I was like – I don’t care, this is what I want. I love creating content that other people enjoy. I honestly wouldn’t have started sooner, I wasn’t mature enough to handle what comes along with digital creating. If I could change anything it would have been telling myself to not care what anyone thinks.

Brianna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, so there was a lot of opportunity for work in the entertainment industry. Growing up, I loved making videos, making people laugh, and being part of something bigger. I always had my eyes set on something, I always had a goal or a dream. I started taking acting classes around 13 years old at the Nashville School of the Arts. I ended up getting signed with a local talent agency. I was doing anything I could to be taken seriously in the industry. Shortly after my acting classes, I got into music videos, shows, and films here in Nashville. My grandmother was involved in the country music industry so I was exposed to a lot of really cool stuff there too. I knew I wanted to be an entertainer of some sort, I just wasn’t sure what kind. All of that slowly bloomed into what I do today – digital content. I produce YouTube videos (gaming, tech, etc.) and model. I would say I finally felt validated when I started getting collaboration offers with these big tech companies and actors. It hit me, I thought to myself – you did this all by yourself, and I think that’s what sets me apart from others. I’ve been traveling down this road since I was a child, experiencing new things, no destination, just a general direction. I’m still traveling down that road today and I love it.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
FYWTS – Fail your way to success. Do not be afraid to fail, do not be afraid to make mistakes. It’s going to happen, but it’s so important that you don’t beat yourself up and give up. Let your mistakes drive you. I’ve failed so many times and my mistakes have contributed to so much knowledge and experience that have taken me places I would have never imagined. Don’t be afraid of judgement. No one wants to live their life in fear of what other people think. If you’re serious about digital creating, modeling, anything where you have an audience, expect the worst feedback, expect hate, expect bullying, and then ignore it. If you let the negative opinion of someone else get to you, you can’t be your best you.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The positive feedback, the opportunity, and the happiness I can bring to someone. There are a lot of things, but these are the main three. I love reading positive feedback. I fuels me to know that I have contributed something useful to someone. The opportunity that’s out there for digital creators is endless. The thrill I get when I have completed a project for a big company is something I can’t even describe. Happiness. We all want to be happy in life. If I can give someone the slightest smile, or slightest positive emotion, I have done my job. All I wish is for everyone to be happy and enjoy life.
