We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brianna Acevedo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brianna below.
Brianna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?
Hello! My name is Brianna Acevedo and I am the founder/owner of Einstein K9 LLC! I have been professionally training dogs for 12+ years, and have spent this time learning about the industry and enjoying the best part- training my own personal dogs! I have participated in training service dogs for those with disabilities, K9 search&rescue efforts, competed in dog sports such as Mondioring, PSA, AKC Scentwork, and much more! I have made so many amazing colleagues and friends along the way! Dog training has always been a huge passion of mine, and when my business started to grow I decided to include those I had made relationships with along the way! I began finding progressive thinking, responsible, dog trainers and dog lovers to expand my business with! My best friend of 8 years and I were already training dogs every weekend together, and she decided to join me in building a team of trainers! We spent a large amount of time researching, building the marketing/admin side, and creating Einstein K9! Now we have 8+ trainers in the San Antonio/Austin area and are able to offer specialized in-home board&train, private lessons, classes, and adventure days! Every trainer is someone I would trust even with my own beloved pets, and I am so excited to be able to share these wonderful people with the dog communities of San Antonio&Austin! :)

Brianna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began training dogs when I was attended Texas A&M University in College Station earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. I became very involved with training service dogs for veterans and others with disabilities. I thoroughly enjoyed this purpose, and was fully employed training these dogs after graduation. As my career continued, I worked for multiple training kennels/agencies training dogs for military/police purposes. Eventually, I decided to pursue a career in providing pet dog training for the community! This has allowed me to spend more time on continuing education, and pursuing competing in training competitions with my own personal dogs :)
My training company prides ourselves on providing progressive, science based dog training for the community. Our trainers are all passionate about their work, and are constantly pursuing continuing education to provide the highest standard of training. We all work out of our home environments, to give your dog the best experience possible. We are able to provide a much lower stress environment, compared to your traditional dog kennel.
We have trainers who are accomplished/titling in mondioring, psa, IGP, frenchring, AKC obedience, AKC nosework, dock diving, barn hunt, fast CAT, earth dog, agility, tracking, search&rescue, and so much more! Our trainers are here to help you have the best relationship you can with your furry companions :)
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
We are largely a referral based company! We are focused on building truly lasting relationships with our cliental, some whose dog’s I’ve trained and worked with through new generations. We want to be the trainers you can trust and rely on with our beloved pets. With Einstein K9, pets are family :)
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
This may seem simple, but treat others how you want to be treated. My training team are a group of the best trainers in the country, and I have true admiration for each one of them. I follow each of their success, as well as am there for any hardship they have with work, or life. As a leader for Einstein K9, compassion for others is one of the most important values I hold. My training team is welcoming you into their home and their life, this is a very special relationship for us. Therefore, I value every one of my trainers and will always appreciate the truly admirable service they provide to the community.
