Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Briane Lipscomb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Briane, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I personally don’t believe success can be solely measured by one thing. In my eyes, even getting one booking or one sale is successful to me. I do believe that being your authentic self & hard work can make small success turn into larger success. Patience is great to have for that as well, it doesn’t all happen overnight.
Briane, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have pretty much been a creative my entire life, I spent a lot my my time in school drawing random doodles on my notes. It never really hit me how creative I was until high school, when I joined yearbook. Once I picked up that camera, I knew it was something I wanted to do as long as I could.
When I got to college, I realized they didn’t have a photography major. So, I chose a field where I could still take the classes and possibly incorporate them in my work, through graphic design. Over the years I also picked up another major in Video Production that also let me at least get to work with cameras, even if the format was videos.
I know own two small business in my photography, Anelei Creative and my graphic design, in Wolfprnts. I absolutely think that I can be a creative force in this industry because I am multifaceted and am willing to explore different mediums and being open minded about different styles of art, and how to incorporate myself into my work. I want someone to look at that and know instantly that I made it.
My style is varied, but I take a lot of influence from anime and cartoons that I grew up with and add pieces of my culture into it.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There have been numerous times where I’ve had to put creating on pause. Whether it was for personal instances or world instances, they both have been the results of hiatuses.
Things happen, but it’s all about how you comeback after, and hopefully have gained new footing to proceed stronger.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal is to do what I love full time. If my art gets to the point where I can survive of creating, then I know I’m exactly where I want to be in life.
