We recently connected with Brianda Lemus and have shared our conversation below.
Brianda, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
Everyone in my family is my hero. They saved me in different ways at different phases in my life and continue to do so.
I’ve learned that at the end of the day no matter how much of a hard day I’ve had or how confused I may feel about my career they are proud of me and that’s all that matters to me. Family is everything.
My dad grew up taking care of his family at a young age. He was just a child. He didn’t have the childhood he was able to give my siblings and I. We thank him for teaching us to be hardworking people. My dad always taught us to learn as much as we could, whether it was something we were interested in or not. He says “Nunca sabes cuando lo ocupas” “You never know when you’ll need it”.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Brianda Lemus-Ceballos I am a bilingual Multimedia Journalist.
I’m from a small farm town in the Central Valley – Lindsay, CA.
I am the oldest with three younger brothers.
Growing up in a small town some of the goals we have may not be realistic to many around us. With the support from my parents and certain teachers growing through my journey, I knew I could do anything I set my mind to.
Growing up I’ve always been a “talkative person” like they say.
I began my career in radio at Q97.1 in Fresno, CA. It was a full-circle moment. The radio station I grew up listening to was my first break into the broadcasting industry. I love it. I love music and it was everything I thought it was. It will always hold a special place in my career.
But…
I also always wanted to be a reporter so I had to give it a chance.
In February 2023 I had my first Television opportunity in the Spanish industry.
Being bilingual is such an honor I hold. As generations continue and many families move to the U.S. the Spanish language gets lost. I am part of that next generation and I’m lucky to be able to continue my career in Spanish. As difficult as it may be with so many hate comments… all it takes is practice.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Being on Television is a role we have to honor. We are serving our community with the correct information they need to know.
Being a public figure is going to be a big responsibility and the resilience I’ve learned is to always be true to yourself on and off camera.
Many are watching you and the younger audience is looking up to you.
It’s important to lead by example and show the younger generation they can do this also.
My goal is to let the little boy or girl watching me through the television that if I a First generation daughter born in the US can pursue a career in Spanish they can too.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Networking. This industry can be hard as is. Do not be shy to pick someone’s brain. Everyone I’ve met in this industry says the same thing.
