We were lucky to catch up with Briana Boddie recently and have shared our conversation below.
Briana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s go back in time a bit – can you share a story of a time when you learned an important lesson during your education?
One of the most important lessons that I have learned in college was: time management and planning. This was significant to me because it helped shape the person that I am today. If I did not learn this important tactic in my marketing classes, I’m not sure where I would be in my life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m currently a Marketing Specialist at Lenovo. It has been such a joy working for a company that allows you to achieve anything you set your mind to. I have a numerous amount of supporters at all different levels and titles.
As for my job, I’m responsible for assisting the marketing managers on their projects whether it’s messaging framework, marketing assets, creative design, or program coordination. It’s such a fun job that I truly enjoy! One of my proudest achievements out of Lenovo would have to be: Leading two major events at one time — I’ve lead a Coding Buildathon and a Women’s STEM Career Panel.
It has motivated me to be the best that I can be, and that makes all the difference. What sets me apart from others is my personality and determination — I’ve been told that my aura or energy is immaculate. I strive to be the best that I can be while I uplift others.
When it comes to my business, Heiress Designs & Logos, LLC – I specialize in logo designs, website building, marketing advice as a whole, and creative designs (business cards, posters, social media posts, resumes, invitations). Designing is truly a passion of mine.
I truly enter a different world when I am designing — it’s a form of art that I admire and I’m so lucky to indulge in.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I’d have to say my work — truly, I let my work speak for itself. I’ve learned that seeing a visual representation is key when you are marketing. You have to know your demographic to say the least — once you’ve achieved that your reputation is set. I have a passion for Marketing and Designing, so I believe that shows in my work as well.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Everything that I have learned came from my marketing classes at UNCG. During my undergrad years, I learned a great deal on how to appeal to the public — mainly, how to have a social media presence. My advice would be to ask questions, it never hurts to ask if you do not know the answers to the questions. Be sure to seek assistance when needed — this will help as you progress in your career and/or business.
