We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brian Yuran . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brian below.
Brian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
It may sound cheesy but I always knew I was meant to be a filmmaker. Ever since I was a young kid in NJ, I would write stories, film home videos with friends, and create all sorts of content in the exploration of my creative voice.
I also can’t see myself doing anything else. Because if I was an accountant or financial advisor or something like that, I would be daydreaming about movies all day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, I moved to LA to dive into film and tv full-time. Since then, I have been hustling. I keep creating content and pursuing my passions.
My films have screened at festivals across the globe. My first film BENGAL (2021) premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatres and went on to win numerous accolades after a lengthy festival run. My second film, GUARDIAN ANGEL (2023), starring VEEP’s Sufe Bradshaw, centers on the horrors of human trafficking and recently premiered at an Oscar-Qualifying event.
My newest project, THE STAIRWELL, a BEL Entertainment production featuring Michael Paré and Larry Hankin and starring Blake Leon and Jax Buresh, is set to take the festival circuit by storm this fall and winter.
My goal with all my films is to tell stories that can impact lives and encourage others to push the boundaries of their creativity. Art truly brings people together.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
There is 1 – when I was a kid I struggled with my self-image, confidence, and body. When I saw ROCKY for the first time, it gave me the inspiration to work hard, get fit, change my outlook on life, and be the hero of my own story.
If I can make something that does that for someone else, I can die a happy man.
And always remember, we are only as successful as our team. Without Joey Rogoff, Vivek Amin, my parents Howard and Dana and my sister Jenna, I couldn’t do what I do.
And I got to also shoutout my brother Blake Leon.
Love you all.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Entertaining people. At the end of the day, this is the ENTERTAINMENT business. It doesn’t necessarily matter what the critics say. If your movie or content entertains someone and allows them to escape from regular life even if for a minute, you have done your job.
