We were lucky to catch up with Brian Pearson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My parents were both music teachers and musicians so I followed in their footsteps. They exposed me to many live music experiences growing up and eventually I began performing in many genres of music through the years. Music has always been exciting and fun, but sharing that with people is what makes it so valuable.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I taught Band in the New London-Spicer School District for 37 years. While teaching I learned to play almost every instrument at least good enough to perform in public in some capacity on each of them. Presently I play keyboards in a Blues Brothers tribute band, string bass in the Green Lake Bluegrass Band, trumpet & flute for weddings, funerals and church and just played my first concert in the Willmar community orchestra on String Bass. I have been writing music for many years and find that to be my biggest joy musically. You can find all my music on any streaming service by searching “Brian Dale Pearson.” This summer I will be working on writing a commissioned piece for the Little Falls High School Jazz Band commemorating the Charles Lindberg legacy and history to the area.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of writing and sharing music with others is to hear how a certain song or lyric has affected them emotionally. Recording the songs I write is quite exhilarating. Since I record all the instruments and vocals for most of my songs, it is an emotional journey to hear it all come together and most times becomes more than I expected. I believe that God works through my song writing adventures to create something of value that others can appreciated and experience.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I believe the secret to building anything of value is to create positive relationships with as many people as you can. When people trust, respect and value you as a person they will also be interested in seeing or hearing what you are creating as an artist. Every person you cross paths with has something to add to the seasoning of your life. That is why we are all so unique and specially created. Taking the time to build all of your relationships is time well spent in every aspect of your life. For me music is life.
