Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Ocasio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Honestly, the best thing I see from my customers is their smile when I give them their custom shoes and how much excitement they show and how they express it to me. I also give away free custom shoes to random followers and just the joy it brings them to know they won a free custom shoe makes me feel like I’ve done something amazing.


Brian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m just a young kid born and raised from Brooklyn New York, who was brought up in foster care system who had big dreams and aspirations in life and I knew one day that I will make a difference in this world and whatever I become, I have a big heart and a huge smile, and I love to make people laugh and enjoy life when they in my presence I had a rough childhood, but I overcame a lot of circumstances and obstacles and my childhood but with good mentorship, I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Fast-forward some years, and I met my beautiful wife which she was in the crafting and bedazzling business and also a truck driver. She had told me one day I should try to customize some shoes with her and we can do it as a couple and it’s very therapeutic so I started doing crocs with her and putting stones on them and fabric and I end up liking it so I move forward to really learning how to do sneakers and be very creative with it and from that point on I started customizing her shoes, my shoes and also the kid shoes and I started to get really good at it and I branched out started posting on Social media and eventually people started inboxing me to place orders. And when customers come with their ideas, I try to bring it to life on the shoe and 90% of the time they are super amazed of my creativity and how I bring their idea out on a shoe whatever it may be and just to put a smile on their face and for them to wear a custom shoe with a custom outfit makes me feel good
What I’m most proud of the fact that with every custom I do, it’s a new challenge for me, and it really opens up my creative thoughts and I try to bring every idea to life sometimes it’s a real struggle. I mess up on a lot of shoes I have to redo but at the end it comes out to be an amazing piece of work and that’s what I most proud of.
And what I mostly want for the future is to continue to put smiles on people faces, inspire others to be great continue to bless people with free custom pair of shoes and just be a role model for young adults coming up letting them know that all things is possible if you put your mind to it and discipline yourself to stay focused, Don’t never give up in life. There’s always a way if you put yourself first and focus on your dreams and aspirations life can change.


Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The way I built my audience on social media was by posting at least twice a day talking about whatever niche which for me was making videos about custom shoes, doing motivational quotes or posting silly videos and also I engage with a lot of people in my same niche category, which means I go like some of their photos go follow them and they’ll come like some of my photos and follow me and also just word-of-mouth as well. Going to random people say hey I customize this. I do this on social media? Can you follow me? I’ll follow you back and just really being authentic with yourself online and letting people see your authenticity people love that real stuff real stories. The more you be yourself in the consistency of posting the more you will reach more platforms.


What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been being active and present at live events. Also Collab with other people they have a lot of following doing something for them and letting them promote me has been a source of new clients as well and really just being out there and productive and interacting with your community can also bring new clients. That’s what works for me as well and always engaging with the new followers or your followers. Can bring good engagement and also they tell a friend to follow you or come check you out that always works for me as well.
