Hi Brian & Leighann, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My wife and I decided to embark on the path of creative artists when she was pregnant. Our photography and videography business had gained traction, with clients keen to book our services. We made the bold choice for Leighann to leave her job and commit fully to running the business while caring for our newborn son. It was an exciting decision, but we were both passionate about pursuing our artistic aspirations together. We’re grateful for the opportunities our business has brought us and are dedicated to nurturing it while raising our family. It’s a balancing act, but with determination and support, we’re confident in our ability to thrive on this creative journey.
Brian & Leighann, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those new to our work, I’m Leighann, the photographer behind our team, specializing in Wedding and Portrait photography, based out of Southeastern CT.
Photography has been my passion since childhood. Whether capturing moments with family and friends or diving into more formal portraits, my camera was always by my side. What started as a hobby soon became a fulfilling career, fueled by the joy of freezing precious moments in time.
In 2014, my husband and I took a leap of faith, allowing me to leave my full-time job to focus on our growing family while pursuing my passion for photography. Being a devoted wife and mother has only deepened my appreciation for the power of capturing life’s milestones and love stories.
For the past six years, I’ve invited clients to join me behind the lens, creating timeless images that allow them to relive their most cherished memories.
And I’m Brian, the Videographer of our team, specializing in Wedding and Business videos, also based out of Southeastern, CT.
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to the art of filmmaking, crafting stories with friends and entering competitions. As my skills grew, so did the recognition from family and friends, leading me into the world of wedding videography.
Capturing love stories through film is my passion. Each couple has a unique journey, and I take pride in creating personalized highlights that showcase their love and emotions on their special day.
In addition to weddings, Kuenn Productions also offers commercial services, helping businesses share their brand and services through compelling video content.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Lately, we’ve shifted our focus away from the daily hustle of business operations and have directed our energy towards personal creative endeavors. It’s been refreshing to grab the camera and embark on projects that are close to our hearts—whether it’s capturing moments with family or pursuing our own passion projects.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
The creative journey is rarely linear. It’s filled with highs and lows, moments of inspiration and periods of frustration. Non-creatives might not fully grasp the emotional rollercoaster that comes with pouring your heart and soul into your work, only to face rejection or criticism.
