Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Joseph. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
When it comes to social media, I believe the best hands to manage it are your own. I personally control and promote all of my social media platforms because I know that the only person who can truly execute my vision is me. I’ve never hired an outside team to handle my accounts, nor the social media for the businesses I work with. For many, managing everything solo can seem overwhelming, but for me, it’s quite manageable.
I often get approached by social influencers and business owners for advice, and my consistent suggestion is to have confidence in yourself and build your brand with your own hands. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing your work come to life, knowing you did it yourself. When you create content that comes directly from you—not a third party or random team—it resonates more authentically, and you naturally appreciate the journey and the result more.
My philosophy is that I want my work to make a difference, inspire, and evolve. I believe that if I outsourced my social media management to a team, it wouldn’t grow in the way I aspire for it to. It’s more than just creating content; it’s about nurturing it and letting it reflect your personal ambition and passion.
The icing on the cake is this: no employer can make an employee feel as ambitious or passionate as the business owner. At the end of the day, the social media presence is a reflection of the business, and it’s the business owner’s personal investment—not the employee’s—that will ultimately drive it forward.
Brian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Brian Georges Joseph, and I am 24 years old. Though I was born in Florida, my upbringing in the vibrant culture of Haiti deeply shaped who I am today. Growing up surrounded by art and creativity, I was constantly inspired by my mother, who owned a bustling photography company. People would flock to her studio to have their portraits taken, and as a child, I would spend hours playing around the printing machines, unaware of their significance to the business. It was in that environment that my passion for art and storytelling first began.
Fast forward to my time at Florida International University (FIU), where my entrepreneurial spirit truly came to life. While pursuing my degree in Information Technology and Digital Marketing, I founded two businesses that became my pride and joy. The first was Esteem 360 Studios, a Photo Booth company that quickly evolved into a full-scale entertainment enterprise. The second was Esteem Edits, a Photography and Videography company that I am working to expand into a full-service Digital Marketing Agency. Through these ventures, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with a diverse range of brands, models, and businesses, helping them tell their unique stories through visual media.
Today, I serve as the Head of Marketing for Island Queen Cruises & Tours and Biscayne Lady Yacht Charters, two of Miami’s premier yacht companies. In this role, I combine my skills in Digital Marketing with my expertise as a full-time Photographer and Videographer. I thrive on finding innovative ways to enhance the brand’s presence and make a lasting impact in Miami’s competitive yacht industry. Although I am passionate about this work, my heart will always be with the businesses I built from the ground up in college. These ventures are a reflection of my creative vision, entrepreneurial drive, and dedication to storytelling through art.
Since moving to Miami for school and eventually settling here after graduation, I’ve had the privilege of attending exclusive events and collaborating with high-end organizations and artists. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also fueled my ambition to reach my full potential. Each moment has served as a stepping stone, shaping my journey and propelling me toward the future I envision.
Coming from the Caribbean, every opportunity I’ve been fortunate enough to seize has driven me to inspire the world through my work, bringing more culture to life through photography and videography. What sets me apart is simple: I have something no other brand will ever have—me. My unique blend of experiences, passion, and creativity is what makes my work stand out, and it’s what continues to push me forward on my mission to make a difference through my art.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started building my social media presence, the key was to familiarize myself with the tools at my disposal—whether it was a phone or a professional camera. Understanding the tech side of content creation is crucial because, even if you have a team, it all comes down to you. If you don’t know how to effectively use your equipment, your content won’t meet its full potential. My advice to anyone starting out is to first get comfortable with your gear. Learn its strengths, its limits, and how you can push it to deliver the best results.
Beyond the technical side, building a brand presence that resonates with people is essential for growing an audience. What truly made a difference for me was creating content that people could relate to, something they could aspire to. When I began, I focused on the Miami lifestyle, highlighting everything from fashion to the city’s vibrant scenery and entertainment. That drew people’s attention and interest. As I gained traction, businesses and brands started to notice, and that momentum contributed to my audience growth.
Networking and collaborations also played a massive role. Connecting with others and working together on projects can open doors you never thought possible. But it’s the creativity and originality that makes your presence stand out. For me, that meant putting my personality into everything I do, blending my unique perspective into my work.
One thing I’m especially proud of is how I’ve been able to give back to my community. I started a podcast called Esteem Network, which targets youthful entrepreneurs and provides them a platform to share their visions, skills, and stories. By inviting these emerging voices to a panel, I’m helping them get heard and hopefully inspiring others to take their own entrepreneurial journeys. The podcast is open to anyone looking to share their work and dreams, fostering a sense of community and support.
In the end, building a social media presence is about authenticity, consistency, and connection. The more you pour yourself into your work, the more your audience will connect with you and your message.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and content creator is knowing that my work can make a difference and inspire someone. I don’t strive to be the best photographer on the planet—I understand that many new photographers chase that title and often drive themselves crazy in the process. What I’ve learned is that it’s not always about being the best; it’s about making an impact. The true beauty lies in using my art to enlighten someone, challenge their perspective, or inspire them to see the world differently. If my work can spark a change or leave a lasting impression on someone, then I’ve achieved something far more meaningful than perfection. It’s those moments when I see that my creativity has resonated with someone, made them think, or encouraged them to grow—that’s the ultimate reward.
