We were lucky to catch up with Brian Demerson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I have played football since i was little once i got to the end of my high-school career i began to realize i was and had been training myself and teaching myself how to play this game. With no guidance, support, or drive my NFL dreams dwindled after several failed tryouts for the next level came up short. For a couple of years i played pick up football and flag because my love for the game never went away but I always got the question “ Why am I not doing anything with my skillset?” I began asking myself the same question and realized I needed to be doing something attached to what i love and since i could not play i chose to coach and train.
Brian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Brian Demerson A.K.A Coach BD. I am the owner/ Coach for Beat The Press Tech (BTP). Right now we offer conditioning for all positions and Receiver training. I just jumped right in to this being inspired by guys i watched on instagram like Delfonte Diamond. I teach my clients to master their artistry and control their bodies with new mechanics either i come up with or expand upon. I really proud of just the progress i help my clients achieve by just giving them the support and guidance I didn’t have.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I went a year struggling with no clients and no direction while also trying to keep myself motivated to even still do this. It felt just like college and high school. But i fought through now i am getting more looks and got my 3rd client. Slowly but surely we are growing.
Have you ever had to pivot?
This business is my pivot i was head strong on going to the NFL there was no plan B but God had different plans for me. It was hard to accept but I think i love this more.
