We recently connected with Brian Daniel and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
In the domestic staffing industry, 99% of the agents don’t come from the private service industry. In other sectors, customers turn to “experts” to solve their problems: lawyers, doctors, contractors, etc. But, in household staffing, the “advisors” have never walked in the shoes of the people they represent, so there is a significant disconnect in the industry.
The Celebrity Personal Assistant Network is the world’s only headhunting firm founded by a former PA to celebrities, billionaires, and royal families. We have “pedigree” in a world where most do not.
This allows us to understand the concerns of private service professionals and the high-net-worth families who employ them.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Many people “fall into” the private service industry by accident, and I’m no exception. I’ve been in hospitality and the service industry my entire life. While working at a famous 5-star hotel in Beverly Hills, I scored my first personal assistant job with a famous legacy family, and there is no turning back. Since then, I’ve worked for celebrities, billionaires, and royal families.
In 2007, I decided to start my own elite household staffing agency because I noticed a huge gap in the industry. After learning that most domestic staffing agents don’t come from private service, I decided to elevate the industry by starting a specialized firm.
The Celebrity Personal Assistant Network has been featured in the news and media more than 100 times, and no other agency even comes close.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I started my household staffing firm in 2007, and in 2008, the worldwide economic crisis hit. Before I even had a chance to get momentum, many agencies were closing. I persisted because I believed in my brand and uniqueness. To diversify my business, I started offering consulting services to both estate owners and candidates.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2019, 10 years after my first crisis, another hit: Covid 19. Many more domestic staffing agencies closed, but I persevered. I expanded my services again and started partnerships with businesses serving high-net-worth families and celebrities.
