Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brian Christion. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brian, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
The idea for Wine & Design came to me as I reflected on two things I’m deeply passionate about: creating beautiful, functional spaces and connecting with people through shared experiences. My background in interior design has always been about more than just furniture and color schemes—it’s about how design transforms a space and, ultimately, the lives of the people who use it. I wanted to make that concept accessible and fun, stripping away the intimidation that sometimes surrounds design and showing people that great design isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.
The spark came during a casual evening with friends. We were sipping wine, talking about our spaces, and brainstorming ways to make them feel more “us.” I realized how powerful it was to bring people together in a relaxed setting and give them the tools and inspiration to improve their homes. That’s when I knew I had something special—a way to blend creativity, education, and community into a single experience.
When I tested the concept with a small group, the energy in the room was incredible. People weren’t just learning about design; they were laughing, sketching, and connecting. I realized this wasn’t just a class—it was a movement. It made sense to me because I’ve spent years honing my skills in retail and design, so I understood what people needed and how to deliver it.
Wine & Design is a natural extension of who I am—part teacher, part designer, and part entertainer. I knew I could succeed because the concept brings real value. It’s not just about creating beautiful spaces; it’s about empowering people to take ownership of their environments, showing them the link between good design and mental wellness, and creating a sense of community in the process.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Brian Christion, the founder of Bungalow Vibes Interior Design and the creator of Wine & Design, an innovative experience that blends interior design education with the joy of connecting over a glass of wine. With over a decade of experience in the interior design industry—including roles at Crate and Barrel, West Elm, and Gracious Homes in New York City—I’ve built a career focused on making spaces beautiful, functional, and inspiring.
My journey into design started with a fascination for how spaces influence how we feel, think, and live. Growing up, I was the one constantly rearranging rooms and dreaming about how to make them better. This passion turned into a profession, and today, I offer a range of services including design consulting, workshops, and events like Wine & Design.
Wine & Design is not your typical design workshop; it’s an experience. I host events where people come together to learn foundational design principles—whether it’s sketching a room layout, understanding furniture proportions, or selecting the perfect rug—while enjoying a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. I provide all the tools: sketchpads, materials, and even a carefully curated wine selection, so attendees leave not only with knowledge but with inspiration and confidence to elevate their spaces.
What sets me apart is my belief that design is a necessity, not a luxury. I aim to show how a well-designed space can improve mental health, boost productivity, and enhance happiness. My work is about solving a key problem: helping people understand how their environment affects their lives and giving them the tools to make meaningful changes.
I’m proud of the community I’ve built through Wine & Design—seeing attendees light up with inspiration and share their stories of how they’ve transformed their homes has been incredibly rewarding. Another proud moment was partnering with companies such as the Italian showroom Lazzoni and Crate & Barrel to bring these events to life in stunning settings that complement the design experience.
For anyone considering working with me, I want them to know that my approach is grounded in authenticity, expertise, and passion. Whether it’s a one-on-one consultation, a community workshop, or a surprise room reveal for a deserving family, my goal is always to elevate, educate, and connect through the power of great design.
At Bungalow Vibes, we believe that good design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that reflect who you are and support the life you want to live.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation in the market has been built on a foundation of authenticity, creativity, and a deep understanding of what people truly need in their spaces. First and foremost, I listen. Whether I’m hosting a Wine & Design event or working with a client on a design project, I focus on understanding their unique lifestyle, challenges, and aspirations. That personal connection is key.
What really sets me apart is my ability to make interior design approachable and engaging. Many people view design as intimidating or out of reach, but I strive to break down those barriers. I show people how small, intentional changes can make a big impact, empowering them to see design as something they can do for themselves. This relatability has resonated with my audience and helped them feel confident in their own design journeys.
Ultimately, I think my reputation has grown because I’m not just offering a service—I’m creating experiences that inspire transformation. Whether it’s the joy someone feels when they attend their first Wine & Design or the pride they have in their redesigned space, my work is about fostering confidence, creativity, and community.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
One thing I think non-creatives might struggle to understand about my journey as a creative is how deeply fulfilling it is to use your talents and gifts to serve others. Creativity isn’t just about making something beautiful or innovative for yourself—it’s about sharing what you’ve been given in a way that uplifts, inspires, and helps those around you.
For me, design has always been about more than just creating aesthetically pleasing spaces. It’s about solving problems, improving lives, and bringing joy to others. Through Wine & Design, I’ve found a way to take what I’m passionate about and use it to create an experience where people feel seen, heard, and empowered. Whether someone leaves an event with a new understanding of design or just feels more confident in their ability to create a home they love, I know I’m fulfilling my purpose by helping them.
I believe that our gifts aren’t meant to stay with us—they’re meant to flow through us. When we hold onto our talents for personal gain, we miss the opportunity to create impact. But when we share them, they multiply and create ripples far beyond what we could imagine.
To anyone reading this, I’d say: Your gift, no matter how big or small, has the potential to make a difference in someone else’s life. Whether it’s through art, design, teaching, or any other skill, don’t underestimate the value of what you bring to the table. The world needs what you have to offer, and there’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve used your talents to serve others and make their lives better.
