We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brian & Cassandra Oliver a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brian & Cassandra, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
When we were in conversations about the name of our company, we wanted to make it something personal to not only us, but our children. We wanted to leave our children a legacy so that they would be able to leverage what we built to secure their future desires. The letters in K.W.A. Group Branding are intentional and are reflective of our middle names. After a search in the market, we found that the combination of letters would be unique to us.

Brian & Cassandra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
K.W.A. Group Branding’s motto is “Promote Your Brand, Promote Your Event, and Promote Your Life!” As we reflect on our beginnings, we saw this theme throughout our 25+ years of industry experience. The customer-centered focus of providing clients with custom imprinted promotional products began with experiences at Florida Atlantic University (our alma mater) as one of our clients. As Cassandra went into Educational Leadership and Brian went into Sales Management, we continuously served clients and taught others the value of what became our motto.
We help you promote your brand through promotional items, using intentional marketing to provoke a call to action from your end users. Furthermore, we Promote Your Event with branded merchandise, leaving a lasting impression on your participants, supporters and sponsors; and we can assist you with the planning, execution and day of logistics. Lastly, we Promote Your Life by serving as your community outreach partner, providing enriching leadership skills workshops to your stakeholders. The approach of intentional marketing and having gratitude as an attitude has propelled us through the 25+ years of business success we have.
As a certified women and minority owned business that is invested and rooted in the community we serve, the desire to serve others is in line with our attitude. It is important to be present and serve others whenever possible.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
We are a dynamic promotional products company here at K.W.A. Group Branding. Our business has experienced a change in approach due to the pandemic as our clients were forced to cancel events and projects that would have traditionally focused on custom branded items to help in advertising. We saw
this as an opportunity to extend our corporate practice of “Gratitude is the Attitude!” We have learned that our practice of valuing customer care and employee/team contributions to our company is a practice that we all could benefit from. Where pre-pandemic engagements were focused on giveaways
for events, we are helping companies find items that express appreciation for their end-users and their employees. Gratitude and appreciation are never out of season when it comes to remaining in business and growing with our client partners.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The best way to grow your clientele is to always stay focused on the client relationship. Every positive relationship is built on and relies upon trust. Your clients must trust that you will take care of their needs, satisfy their objectives, adhere to their requests & deadlines, and help them make their job
easier. Your responsibility is to show them that you are worthy of their trust, and you do that with your professionalism, consistency, attention to detail, communication, follow up, and delivery of your stellar products and/or services. If you continue to present your company as a partner, and not just a vendor,
then you will more often become their business of choice, and the referral source to others needing your products and services. That is the best way to develop, maintain, and grow your clientele.
