Bria, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
Yes, I am so much happier being my own boss and making my own schedule. Being able to work, take a break, and leave whenever I want without having to tell anyone has been one of the best things about being my own boss. Since I have been working for myself, I do not think about having a regular job because when I did have one, I was so unhappy and unmotivated to do anything but work so I could survive. Working for myself I have been so happy to be able to just work and do what I love, I really love my job now! It really is a blessing to be able to wake up every day and be able to start the workday when you are ready and not because you are on someone else’s time and being told when to start and end your day. Most of my jobs have been customer service related so I’ve always had to deal with difficult customers every day, all day. I think about those types of moments when I think about what it was like having a regular job again, but I would never go back to working a regular job after seeing the life changes that have been made working for myself. I can eat and sleep better, cook more meals, and my days have been so much better overall. Keeping God first in my life has been the number one reason my journey has been so amazing and successful, along with my wonderful support system. It was the best decision I have ever made.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My business is called Nighttime Bonnets and More LLC, we sell bonnets, durags, wave brushes, wig brushes, spa headbands, shower caps, slippers, edge brushes, silk pillowcases, electronic gift cards and silk lined scrunchies. We have adult and children’s sizes available with 11 different collections to choose from. As a black woman with natural hair it’s important that I keep it protected and healthy. So, I would wear bonnets to bed but I could only find black or green bonnets at the hair store but I wanted a blue one (blue is my favorite color). I found a blue one and then I seen all these different colors and styles and instantly fell in love with it. I started my business October 17th 2019 and it has grown so much and blossomed into something beautiful. Plus, I don’t have to go out and buy anymore bonnets and I can be my own supplier. What I am most proud of is that I did this all on my own without any help financially but mentally and spiritually I’ve had a wonderful support system. What sets us apart from other people is there is not a lot of people selling bonnets or durags and everything else that Nighttime Bonnets and More LLC has to offer and were growing more each day.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
How I built my audience on social media was by just posting online 2-3 times a day on all or majority of my social medias, finding viral posts/videos online and post my website underneath them so it can reach a bigger audience, using hashtags, passing out my business cards when I am out in public and I also have social media pages for my business. I would advise everyone wanting to grow their social media presence should do whatever works best for them.

I keep up with a lot of my customers on social media mainly Instagram. They send me pictures all the time and I post them on my page and my website. How I foster brand loyalty is by sending my returning customers is sending them discount codes or throwing a free item/items in their packages to show our appreciation.
