We recently connected with Bri Norberg and have shared our conversation below.
Bri, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Women of Sacramento was launched in January 2018. I saw a need for a different type of networking community. One less professional and more relatable. Too often I found myself sitting awkwardly at networking events with women twice my age in pantsuits armed with business cards. (No shame in their networking game, but that’s just not my vibe!) That just wasn’t relatable to me. I felt I needed to put on a facade and prove my worth in those rooms.
I wanted to create a community that felt comfortable to be fully themselves and express their true identity and nature. The highs and lows, the smiles and the tears. A community that fostered deep, genuine relationships, not just business connections.
My mission has always been to create an inclusive space where everyone feels like they have a chair at our wild, authentic table.
Over the last five years, I have watched this community grow and have seen first-hanWd the impact that is has had in the lives of our members and event attendees. It’s been the biggest honor of my life to lead this organization!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Bri! I’ve been a serial entrepreneur for the past decade and have finally found an industry that channels my passion, talent, and skills and feels full aligned with my mission!
In terms of the services we provide, we have monthly networking events that range from casual happy hour dates to large-scale conferences! We also have promotional opportunities for our business members to be featured through our social channels and even lead one of our monthly events!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I believe building a personal brand will make or break your online presence. There is power in the internet’s ability to build community and leverage that to build your business.
I have built two of my accounts to a combined total of over 21,000 followers. Social media, specifically IG, has been the MAIN source of both my business’s leads and revenue.
The key to my online growth and presence is my commitment to consistency. I saw IG as a tool to connect with my audience and speak directly to the people that needed my message the most.
Oftentimes, I hear business owners who resent social media or resist mastering it for their business. I believe that is a missed opportunity for them o build deeper relationships with their audience and future clients/customers.
My recommendation for people who are just getting started building their social media presence is to keep it simple. You don’t need a complicated strategy in order for you to see progress. Choose the platform your target audience uses the most, and start delivering value-based, inspiring content consistently.
The more you show up, be consistent, and solve your audience’s problems, the bigger you community will grow, and the more you will see your business grow as well.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
We take our member experience extremely seriously. The last thing that I want our members to feel is lost amongst a sea of others. Our onboarding process gets them immediately plugged into upcoming events right away so they can start connecting and networking with other ambitious women in their city.
At our events, I make sure each person that walks through the door feels welcomed and seen. I personally introduce myself to event attendees and get to know more about them.
We also have an opportunity at our events for what I call our Pitch Party. This is where 5 courageous attendees come up to the front of the room and pitch their business, idea, or mission, and then ask the audience for whatever they need in that season.
It’s a special moment for women to conquer their fear of public speaking in a space that wildly supports and encourages them.
We also have a Local Discounts Program where our members get access to discounts at a list of different local businesses here in Sacramento! It’s a win win for everyone.
