Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bri Minus. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Bri thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
It wasn’t until the release of my first single, ‘What If’ that people really started to take notice. Instantly, I was approached to perform at various shows around the city. My first performance really set my path in stone. I was filled with excitement and joy to even just perform in front of a few people. I knew then, I had about three songs at the time; this is what I wanted to do.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Bri Minus. I am a singer/songwriter. My music is my outlet. The Original Drug Child, ODC for short; is my brand. My music focuses on everyday struggles, mental health, and empowerment. I use my music to help people see where I came and I’m coming from. I am a songwriter as well. I help others express what they cannot put into words.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Definitely having a MacBook. It’s a great resource for a creative.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience by my “promo” videos for my upcoming singles. Before reels, I would post regularly with a video of myself preforming whatever new song was out at the time. Today, I still do this but now I use reels on Instagram. My audience continues to grow.
