Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bri Michele. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Bri, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My Mother has always supported me in anything Ive ever wanted to pursue in my life from a kid all the way up until now. When I was younger I wanted to be in the WNBA, be a teacher, go to the military, cheerlead and so much more but my mom always told me that I could be everything plus more if I really wanted it. Growing up and looking back, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I got older but I did know I wanted to be a Boss and Successful. My mom clapped so loud for me throughout my life I’ve never noticed who didn’t. After walking the High school stage and receiving my diploma I went straight into college to study ECE (early childhood education) and Social work, still with my mother right by my side helping me move into my dorm. Shortly after Covid blindsided the world, me included and we were sent home to never return campus. Being home gave me the opportunity to fall deep in love with doing hair to the point I withdrew completely from school and enrolled into a trade school to study Cosmetology instead still with my Mother proud that I found something that I loved to do.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

For the people that may not know me; I am Bri Michele a 24 year old Beauty guru, Licensed cosmetologist, and Hair vendor. I specialize in Wigs, Weave, and Extensions while also caring about my clients natural hair care. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio soon to be new resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. I have been doing hair for 6 years and I am most proud to call my self a real professional stylist. When a client books me I can assure you I will be at the appointment to greet and service you, you will receive a shampoo before service starts, the price will always match the quality, and your appointment time is your appointment time there will not be any others being serviced at the time of your unless communicated otherwise. Some of my clients may describe me as a “Magician” simply because I will work with what I have and still turn nothing into something. To avoid any complications I also provide hair with services; Lace pieces, bundles, tape in extensions, wigs, and more. For example A traditional sewin with 3-4 bundles of hair provided. All you have to do is show up. I entered the industry in late 2019 a little before covid but fully committed after during the pandemic. The main thing this industry shows you is it’s slow and fast seasons. You have months were your booked completely and months were you have 6 clients total, but you have to look at it differently and just be grateful and rest when your given breaks because as a service provider sometimes we don’t get the “lunch breaks” and PTOs. Being grateful for every client I touched new and returning always shows be why I started and the passion I have for this career.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Being chosen. There is so many people that do the same thing I do but my clients seeing something different in me, being comfortable with me, and loving my work means the world to me.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Consistency. When I first started I posted every single day, every single client, I posted maybe 3-6 times a day. That showed people that I was consistent and doing this everyday. My advice is to just post don’t over think it and even if you get 0 likes so what people are always watching and see you showing up. The consistency is what matters and will prove the love
