We were lucky to catch up with Bri Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Bri thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
In the early chapters of my professional journey, I used to get jobs for either the paycheck or the experience, a classic tale of chasing dollars and résumé lines. The downside? I’d show up, but happiness wasn’t exactly in the building. On the bright side, my career path was like a carefully curated playlist – intentional and on the same wavelength.
Then, one day, a boss hit me with the ultimate ponder: “Do you wake up and actually enjoy coming to work, enjoy the people you work with, and vibe with your boss?” I confidently belted out a yes, but the truth was, I hadn’t really tuned into the question.
Turns out, the employer-employee connection isn’t just a one-way street. It’s not just about clocking in and out; it’s about belting out your needs and delivering top-notch work while keeping the work environment fun and productive. Your employer should be the backstage hype person, cheering you on and setting the stage for your brilliance. It’s a teamwork anthem – you bring the skills, and they cue the development opportunities.
Don’t just settle for what’s on the job description. Negotiate your worth.

Bri , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Meet the mastermind behind Just A BRIzze – crafting essential oils, salves, and body butter that’ll have you saying goodbye to your love-hate relationship with pharmaceutical drugs. How did I stumble into this aromatic journey, you ask? Well, blame it on my life coaching gig. My clients were all like, “Hey, we need some alternative magic for our aches and pains!” So, I put on my potion-brewing hat, and voila – Just A BRIzze was born.
Now, I may hold a legit title as a certified Life Coach, but let me tell you, I’m not your average self-help enthusiast. I’m on a mission to empower folks, to sprinkle a little sunshine on their paths to positive life changes. I also help kids starting at the age of 5 with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Because, let’s be real, we all deserve a life that’s not just awake, but downright buzzing with happiness and beauty.
Oh, did I mention my academic shenanigans? I dived into the world of Psychology and basically “Mastered” it – emphasis on the air quotes. School Counseling and Child Welfare and Attendance were my playgrounds, setting the stage for the birth of Just A BRIzze. Because what better way to put that psychology knowledge to use than in concocting potions that make people’s lives a little more magical?
Cue the confetti and pop the proudness champagne because, BABYY, I’ve managed to manifest my way to where I stand today. Believe it or not, I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “You got this!” And guess what? I did! I conquered obstacles and now, I’m basking in the glow of everything I’ve dreamed of – plus a bunch of extras I didn’t even know I needed. Life, you sneaky overachiever, you!
Flashback to our last chat when I was putting my manifestation mojo to work, dreaming of working in a school. Fast forward to now – I’m strutting down the school hallways, nearly done cooking up a children’s book (because why not?), and still hanging out with my life coaching clients like it’s a Friday night party. No but for real, could I be any prouder?
So, if you need a dose of inspiration or a sprinkle of “heck yeah, you can do it,” I’m your manifestation maestro. Because let’s face it, life’s a rollercoaster, but it’s way more fun when you’re the one picking the tunes. Here’s to manifesting, overcoming, and reveling in the unexpected extras – because life’s surprises are the best kind of confetti. Cheers to being proud of where you are and excited about where you’re going! 🎉

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Well, buckle up for my wild ride in 2020 – a rollercoaster of epic proportions. Picture this: China, business opportunities galore, and me ready to dive into the world of Chinese medicine and have my products come to life in those mysterious manufacturing shops. Oh, and I even contemplated being the English maestro on the side for some extra moolah. But guess what? The Chinese border slammed shut, leaving me with a front-row seat to my own “Plan B: The Pandemic Edition.”
Cue the dramatic pivot – scratch the China move, toss in some chaos with living arrangements, transportation mishaps, and a fresh start in the job market. It was like rebooting my life with a glitchy 2020 software update. But hey, crisis breeds creativity, right? So, I hopped on the Zoom train and started coaching folks through life’s hurdles. Pandemic-induced mental health concerns had folks lining up virtually, and there I was, the accidental Zoom life coach.
And just when you thought the rollercoaster couldn’t get wilder, I strapped in for a return to a mental health facility. Yup, back in the trenches, providing support to people worldwide grappling with the chaos. But wait, there’s more – throw in some preschoolers, sprinkle in a dash of social-emotional expertise, and voila! I became the behavioral wizard for pint-sized humans.
Lesson learned: Life’s plans may take unexpected detours, but sometimes those twists and turns lead to a heck of a story. So here’s to 2020 – the year I juggled everything from Chinese dreams to virtual coaching and wrangling preschoolers. Cheers to resilience, adaptability, and embracing the chaos with a side of Zoom coaching shenanigans!

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Alright, hop into my imaginary time-traveling DeLorean because if I had a ticket to the past, I’d swap my profession with no hesitations. Picture this: instead of my the School Counselor/SEL Coach, I’d be rocking the title of an electrical engineer or maybe the undercover superhero working for the CIA. Yeah, I know, they’re on opposite ends of the occupational spectrum, but who says you can’t have a double life, right?
I know you are probably like what? Well, I’ve got this undeniable love affair with building and fixing things. Wrenches, circuits, the whole shebang – sign me up! Plus, I’m all about solving problems and digging into mysteries. Enter the CIA – because nothing says “ultimate badass” like being the secret agent next door. Imagine the looks on people’s faces when they find out I’m not just your everyday woman; I’m the lady who can fix your wiring and uncover covert operations on the side.
Sure, it might sound like a plot twist from a blockbuster movie, but hey, life’s more interesting with a dash of unexpected awesomeness. So here’s to rewriting the career script and embracing the wild ride of being the lady who can repair your toaster and save the world – all before lunchtime. Because who says you can’t be an electrical engineer by day and a CIA operative by night, right? Time machine, take me to that alternate reality!
