Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to BRI CLARK. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, BRI thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Bri the Builder came from my experience as a marketer and a popular TV show Bob the Builder. People who don’t even have children know the catch phrase and associate it with building. So combining it with my name makes who I am and what I do easy to remember.
Eventually I want to transition into some sort of writing, publishing or mentoring people in business. And the same name still applies. Whether I’m building people or houses I’m always going to be Bri the Builder.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I stumbled into Bri the Builder. I’ve always been in the trades because I’m married to a contractor and run his office and job sites. One day my husband was like you should get your Builders license and we can do it together like we’ve always done just at the next level. I was tired of being tied to a desk and burnt out with my marketing business so I was like why not.
So I went ahead and did it. Here we are. I’m different than a lot of builders I hear of for many reasons. I’m a woman, most are men. I don’t build or renovate to sale or flip I work directly for homeowners. I like what I do. I like to learn and be better. I work with my husband of 23 years and we like working together. Our son works for us and so we have a family business as the core crew.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
My life motto after losing everything in 2008 was, “I know poor I’m good at it. If I don’t have anything no one can take it away from me.” Also a product of growing up in poverty.
Then I learned about abundant thinking and manifestation.
It took me years but I’ve actively and aggressively learned to deconstruct and reprogram my mentality. I’m doing better than I ever had and am learning how to cultivate a meaningful, minimalist life with an attitude of abundance.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Social media specifically Facebook is my best source along with referrals. We aren’t always the best fit for someone and even when that happens I leave them with a suggestion for another contractor who might be better suited.
My communication is top notch and that helps.
My marketing is story based and I can’t stand a hard sale or a FOMO pressuring type of selling. It’s just not my method so I don’t do it. I post 2xs a day and share them in various FB groups based on whatever the groups rules are.
I have a Google Listing, Website, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok accounts as well
