We recently connected with Breyanna Clifton and have shared our conversation below.
Breyanna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning the craft of wedding content creation wasn’t easy when I first started. I began my journey at the end of 2022, a time when there weren’t many wedding content creators in the industry. I wasn’t entirely sure how this space was supposed to operate. The only person I knew of in this field at the time was PlanwithLaur, who had just started sharing her experiences as a wedding content creator. I reached out to her, and she graciously shared some invaluable pointers to help me get started.
With her guidance and the support of my first client and friend, Quayla (Insta: lovequayla), I captured my first wedding in November 2022. That experience marked the beginning of my journey, and since then, I’ve been fortunate to capture and create content for many beautiful weddings. I’m proud to say I’ve become one of the first wedding content creators in Alabama.
From that first wedding, I’ve learned so much—about lighting, editing, executing TikToks effectively, and more. I discovered that slower, steadier clips can be incredibly captivating and that finding the perfect angles to highlight special moments is essential. Planning content ahead of time has also become a key part of my process because wedding days are often busy and fast-paced. Understanding the vision beforehand ensures I can create content that truly reflects the couple’s love story.
My dad Andrew Clifton (Insta: Andrewthomasclifton), a well-known photographer and cinematographer, has also been a huge influence. He always asks me, “What is the story you want to tell?” That advice has guided me to capture raw, real, and candid moments that weave together a beautiful and authentic love story.
I strive to make the process as seamless as possible for my clients. I provide clear, accessible information about what wedding content creation entails and how we’ll work together. Staying active on TikTok and Instagram keeps me inspired with fresh ideas and allows me to help brides visualize the type of content they want for their big day.
Breyanna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Breyanna, and I’m a 21-year-old college student with a passion for social media and creating videos. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to God for blessing me with creativity and the ability to capture life’s most special details. Without him, none of what I have done would be possible. My journey into content creation began with making fun, engaging videos for my social media management clients. Over time, I transitioned from managing social media accounts to focusing on content creation for businesses. That shift led me to an incredible opportunity when my friend Quayla approached me about capturing her wedding as a content creator.
At first, I wasn’t familiar with wedding content creation, but after filming her wedding in November 2022, I instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I’ve had the honor of documenting countless special days through candid videos that capture the raw, authentic moments that make each wedding so unique.
What I love about wedding content creation is how it complements traditional wedding photography and videography. While photographers and videographers create stunning, highly edited imagery that takes time to deliver, wedding content creation fills the gap by providing couples with quick, shareable moments from their big day. Within days, couples can relive those memories through TikToks, Instagram Reels, and short clips that showcase their love story in a fun and authentic way.
Wedding content creation is perfect for capturing all the in-between moments—like dancing with your bridal party in the morning, heartfelt hugs, funny comments, and even the joyful chaos of the reception. I provide my clients with the raw video footage and pictures captured during the day, along with curated TikToks and Reels that highlight their love story, their wedding party, and even their guests.
One of my most touching experiences was working with a client who wanted wedding content so that a family member unable to attend could still feel included. Through candid videos and photos, they were able to share the day in a way that brought that loved one closer to the celebration. Moments like that remind me why I do this work—it’s about connecting people and preserving memories in a way that feels real and heartfelt.
My filming style focuses on authenticity. I aim to capture your day as it happens, giving you and your loved ones a chance to relive it through the eyes of those who were there. I’m intentional about tailoring my services to meet each couple’s needs and ensuring the process is as seamless as possible. Many of my brides stay in touch with me long after their weddings, and I love following their journeys as they grow their families and create new milestones to cherish.
I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built as a wedding content creator. The raw, beautiful moments I’ve been able to document bring me so much joy, and I’m grateful to have created high-quality content that inspires others.
My brand is all about celebrating love stories and the connections that make life meaningful. I believe the smallest moments often carry the biggest emotions, and my goal is to shine a light on those details. Through my work, I strive to create a meaningful, transparent, and authentic experience for each couple. Capturing those raw, real, and unfiltered moments is how I help couples treasure their memories forever.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn when becoming a wedding content creator was the idea that I had to be perfect and that my page had to reflect that perfection. I struggled—and still sometimes struggle—with imposter syndrome. The world and industry can make you feel like what you’re doing isn’t good enough. Your grid isn’t perfectly curated? Not good enough. Your client list isn’t as long as someone else’s? Still not good enough. I could go on and on about how comparison truly is the thief of joy. But I had to remind myself that what I’m doing and creating holds so much value to the people who trust me to capture their memories. I’ve learned to see the value in myself, my business, and my content, even if it’s not always flawless.
I’ve come to realize that my imperfections are part of what makes me—and my work—unique. Life isn’t perfect, and that’s what makes it so beautiful. The same goes for the moments I capture; it’s the raw, real, and unpolished parts that often tell the most meaningful stories. I want my business to reflect that authenticity. That’s why I try to share not just the polished moments but also the behind-the-scenes chaos, the lessons, and the real me on my Instagram stories. It’s a space where I let people into my world—the highs, the lows, and all the crazy moments in between.
Reflection has played such a big role in helping me appreciate how far I’ve come and how much growth is still ahead of me. Looking back, I can see that the journey has been just as valuable as the destination. Each challenge, each win, and each imperfect moment has shaped who I am and who I’m becoming. I’m proud of that, and I’m excited to see where this journey continues to take me.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is getting to see a vision or story come to life. You can plan out every detail of how you want something to look, but there’s nothing quite like putting the finishing touches on an edit and sending it over to the client, knowing you’ve captured their special moments in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. That moment when they see their content for the first time and feel like booking with Bree Does Social was the best decision—that’s what makes it all worthwhile.
I absolutely love seeing their genuine excitement as they relive their day through the content. Watching them proudly share post after post about their special moments and seeing their family and friends react to the beautiful memories is so fulfilling. It’s even more rewarding when a piece of funny or heartfelt content resonates with others beyond just the couple, sparking laughs, tears, or inspiration. And when other pages love the content so much that they want to reshare it with an even larger audience? That’s the cherry on top—it shows that the story I captured has touched people far and wide.
At the end of the day, knowing that I played a part in preserving someone’s most cherished memories and helping them share their joy with the world reminds me why I love what I do. It’s more than just creating content; it’s about capturing the heart of a moment and making it last forever.
