We were lucky to catch up with Brett Fontenot recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brett, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
We are a small business that strives on our customers happiness. We want every customer to be part of our family. What sets us apart is our unwavering dedication to providing our customers with what they want. We don’t just provide a certain product in our store, every time you shop with us our inventory will be different. We give away 3 items during each one of our shows ranging from $25.00 to $200.00 shipped at no cost just for being present. Additionally we hold a drawing on Mondays to pick 3 winners for the week and we give them each a $50 gift certificate to our show that week so they can have what they want without having to worry about if they can afford it or not. I pay for my customers items to be shipped no matter how much they spend with me there is no monthly fee i pay for it out of my pocket because a customer deserves it. Times are rough rite now and they shouldn’t have to pay for something that they can’t come and pick up.

Brett, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Brett i started this with my mother a few years ago, We had an antique booth and would restore furniture. We started doing live sales to provide customers who were not in our area to get what they want. We sell all things vintage and antique. We provide our customers with vintage items they have been searching for that their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles had that they weren’t able to find elsewhere. We offer them a different variety of items ranging from glassware, primitives, vintage hats, toys, and antiques and home decor. We pay for their shipping cost with no hidden or monthly fee. The things that i am most proud of is that we are an honest hardworking family who have put a lot of hard work, sweat, and tears into this company and if there is anything we can do to for them that we don’t have we will find a way to get it . My customers know one thing that if we don’t have what they are looking for i will find it. I travel across the United States from state to state to find what they are looking for. We are a company that wants to give back what is given to us. I can offer them what they want when they want it, whether it’s through a live sale which are held 4 days a week or its through my online shop which is available 24 hours a day at a price they can afford to pay with FREE SHIPPING and no monthly contracts.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I actually was blessed to be able to have the funding. My grandpa always told me work hard for what you want and it will pay off one day. I worked in his store for years with no pay and when he died i was left with an inheritance. I use it very wisely and i do not spend anything unless i have to. To fund my business it only took $50.00. The platform of Facebook is free to use and i only bought merchandise with the money that i made i didn’t buy new merchandise if i didn’t make any money.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My parent were both teachers who are now retired, we were not rich with money but we were rich with love. My parents never let me do without what i wanted but we never over did anything. I would bring my own lunch to school to save on cafeteria fees and would bring my own snack from home. I worked hard as a child i would wash the neighbors cars, and trucks to earn money from it. There were times where i would mow peoples yards for moey. I was taught to save my money for when i wanted something nice. I would save 98 percent of the money i earned. With the opportunities that were given to me being able to go to work for my neighbors or being able to do chores at home was a blessing so that is why i do so many give backs. I giveback to people whether they give to me or not. I want to beable to offer the world some good because it was offered to me. I was taught its better to give than to receive so i do a lot of giving.
