We were lucky to catch up with Bre’Tarsha Harris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Bre’Tarsha, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
It all started with a vision from a rental property I moved in after low income housing. I seen that there was a unit across from me and the location was in the neighborhood I grow up in , it had 3 units in 2 story building and the one up top had an open floor plan in which God gave me a vision in a dream that I would have . So Immediately Studio 513 hair salon came to mind . Never once thinking how it could also effect my business being older clients may not be able to make the stairs .

Bre’Tarsha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My gift was God given , at a very very young age . My dad was was blessed with the craft of his hands so it was pass on though Generics my grandma say. I think a Intimate setting sits me from others and also that my skills are well done . I’ve mastered locs , but most of all repairing them making them , I’m just in love with locs and the entire freedom of it all by just being free . Messing up in my mind when a client is in love with what you done has made me more passionate about mastering and investing into my craft some that I struggle with for years . I mean I purchased good products but I wouldn’t invest into me . So if you follow me ur in for treat and I do follow back and you definitely she the grow in education of my skills

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Wow I started my business in 2015 with my income-tax, I was working 3rd shift job at a plant and every nite I would stay to myself and write out plans on how I would open my Salon . I was in a terrible place my than relationship was falling apart .people at the job thought I was crazy cause I never inter acted with them lol but I was just focused on what my plans were . They were workers so they would never understand me .
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My 2nd year I almost closed my Salon and went back to working full time cause it was days I would leave my business and pay bills and have 10 dollars left over . My bills was double & triple depending on what it was . But I kept faith in God and went back to the table to add something else that would bring in passive income . I was on my own journey so that’s how Fitherfitnessgear was birth.
