We recently connected with Breonna Queen and have shared our conversation below.
Breonna , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I love being a business owner and being able to wake up and do what I love. However, I don’t love everything I have to do (which I think is a common misconception when it comes to being a business owner or self-employed).
Yes, for the most part, you get to do what you enjoy, but every day will not be amazing.
For example, I’m sure Oprah loved being a talk show host, but I’m sure sitting under hot lights for hours wasn’t fun.
I’m sure Beyonce enjoys singing, but I’m pretty sure having to tour and miss out on family/friends events due to touring wasn’t fun either.
The point is that there will be parts of the job you do not enjoy. Yes, you may able to delgate things you hate, but know there will be parts of running a business that is not fun and enjoyable but needed.
I run a style blog full-time as well as a training company that helps other content creators monetize their online content. I love helping and teaching others, but there are also parts (like invoicing!) that are not my favorite thing to do but are needed to keep my business going!

Breonna , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Breonna Queen.
I’m a full-time content creator (blogger and YouTuber) who was able to replace my income with my content and quit my corporate job. I love being a digital creator.
In 2019, I had so many people asking questions and for advice on how they, too, could make money as a content creator and even quit their corporate job, which led me to create my second business, which teaches creators how to make money with their online.
I host events, have courses, and provide consulting focused on making more income with your online content.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I turned blogging, and YouTube into a full-time business. It was initially just something fun to do, and then I realized I could actually make money from it… enough money to quit my job!
Other creators would come to me and ask how I was able to make money from my YouTube channel and blog, which led me to start my consulting business to help others do what I achieved.
I have an MBA with an emphasis in marketing as well as a bachelor’s in advertising (which is what I was doing in corporate), so marketing has always been fun to me. However, a lot of creators don’t realize it’s not about creating content. It’s also about marketing yourself and creating a brand that actually generates revenue.
Merging my education and experience has allowed me to help over 100 men and women turn their content into revenue streams. I’ve had clients land 6-figure book deals, generate 5-figure months, and even quit their jobs!
My favorite milestones are the ones where I get to impact others!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I’m a digital creator, but ironically, the best source of new clients for me is actual in-person events! I do a lot of in-person speaking engagements and always land new clients that way!
I already have a portfolio online so people can see what I do, and the in-person aspect makes it more personable! It allows you to get in front of new people and interact in real life (which people really miss post-pandemic).
I make it a goal to do a few speaking engagements a quarter, as well as attend local events where I can connect with others.
