Hello, I’m Bre’Ona Hunte, widely recognized as @EmancipationOfBee across various platforms. I’ve carved a unique path as an influencer, advocate, and versatile entrepreneur. Growing up in a household of entrepreneurs and cosmetology professionals, I was inspired to master multiple trades rather than confining myself to just one. This led me to become a Personal Chef, Loctitian (Loc specialist), Resin Artist, and Influencer.

What sets me apart is my diverse skill set and the passion I bring to each of my endeavors. From turning hobbies into thriving careers, I’ve embraced the journey of self-discovery and mastery. One noteworthy aspect of my personal journey is my transformation through a fitness challenge, shedding over 100 pounds. This experience ignited a realization – many women were waiting for the “perfect body” to express themselves, unaware that their perfection was already within.

In 2023, I proudly launched LustXLace, a body-positive swimwear line catering to women sized S – 4X. This venture was born from the belief that every woman deserves to feel confident and stylish, regardless of size. LustXLace goes beyond providing fashionable choices; it’s a celebration of self-love and body positivity.

My brand is a reflection of authenticity, resilience, and the empowerment of women. Whether through my culinary creations, artistic endeavors, or promoting body positivity, I strive to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness. I invite potential clients, followers, and fans to join me in celebrating individuality, breaking stereotypes, and fostering self-love. My journey is a testament to the fact that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and I’m dedicated to spreading that message through my work.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Growing up, I faced numerous trials and tribulations, with some patches in my journey proving to be especially rough. By the age of 15, I had become a mother, navigating the challenges of parenthood while my parents were grappling with illness, ultimately leading them out of our home. Faced with an uncertain future, I found myself afraid and not sure where to turn.

After giving birth, I took charge of my destiny. Despite the obstacles, I secured two jobs and began working while attending school. Graduating with my diploma was a significant accomplishment, but my attempt at college took an unexpected turn, and at 17, I found myself homeless with a toddler. It was a daunting situation, but I refused to give up.

My journey has been filled with twists and turns, and the challenges persisted. But throughout it all, I continued to push through. I persevered, perfecting my crafts and keeping a smile on my face. By the age of 25, through hard work and determination, I achieved a milestone that reflected my resilience—I purchased my first piece of property and a home.

In addition to navigating these personal challenges, I am also a business owner. Balancing entrepreneurship with my other roles has been demanding, but it’s an integral part of my journey. Currently, I am a premed student with aspirations to become an anesthesiologist. This new chapter in my journey represents a continuation of my commitment to overcoming challenges and achieving my goals. This path reflects not only my resilience in the face of adversity but also my unwavering determination to build a better life for myself and my child.

So, while there are many chapters in my story, and this interview might feel like it needs to be an audiobook, the overarching theme is one of resilience, entrepreneurship, and the pursuit of a brighter future. My journey illustrates that even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, it’s possible to not only survive but thrive with hard work, a positive mindset, and an unwavering spirit.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a multifaceted artist and creative is the opportunity to inspire and empower others. Through my journey as a Personal Chef, Loctitian, Resin Artist, and Influencer, I’ve discovered that creativity has the power to connect people on a profound level. When my work resonates with others, whether it’s through a visually striking resin piece, a delicious culinary creation, or a message of body positivity, it creates a sense of shared understanding and inspiration.

Witnessing the impact of my creations on individuals, seeing them find joy, confidence, or motivation through my art, is incredibly fulfilling. Art has the ability to transcend barriers and communicate emotions and ideas in ways that words alone often cannot. Being able to contribute to that shared human experience and potentially make a positive difference in someone’s life is what makes the creative journey so rewarding for me.

Moreover, the freedom to express my authentic self through various mediums and connect with a diverse audience adds another layer of fulfillment. It’s a continuous exploration of self-discovery, growth, and the joy of bringing something new and meaningful into the world. The ability to leave a lasting, positive impact through creativity is, without a doubt, the most gratifying aspect of being an artist.
