We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brent Martin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brent below.
Brent, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea.
I’ve launched many businesses and 100s of projects throughout my career and specialize in executing operations. I’m often refered to as an “Integrator” because I usually work alongside a Visionary to turn ideas into reality. How I take ideas to execution is through a system of processes, transparent communication, and talented teams who are collaborative and coachable. Innovative ideas are a dime a dozen, but a collaborative team of people driving innovation through a unified mission impresses me. These are the people who continue to build profitable companies.

Brent, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The easiest way to describe me is an Innovation Entrepreneur and Operations Leader. I guide, Advise, and work in-the-trenches with amazing companies to drive real results, while having a little fun! In any given week I will be talking to a unicorn founder of a Tech/Web3 company, an advanced cybersecurity company, or an industry leader in many different spaces. My passion for learning and providing true business solutions never ends. I’ve been focused mainly on Staff Pad (subscription based recruiting firm) recently to help grow and disrupt the recruiting industry. The team is amazing, and we’ve seen 600% growth in the past year!

Have you ever had to pivot?
During a product launch and market expansion with a previous company I owned, our manufacturer/supplier provided us with outdated and false information leading to a mishap that cost us $200,000. No matter how much we challenged their suggestions, they incorrectly analyzed and assessed the ongoing dilemma. This was a huge blow to our startup, but we immediately took action. We quickly pivoted away from the supplier to reduce losses, found a better partner, then identified other revenue opportunities to offset the losses. Always partner up (find higher caliber) when you align with other teams and vendors – don’t settle or base off the lowest price!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I focus on value and results first. I will be the first to inform if something is off and would rather any company I’m working with thrive, instead of focusing on lining my pockets.
