Alright, Brent thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

I have been making and creating art my whole life. My mom was an art teacher and nurtured a life long love of art in me. I attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1993 with a BFA in Drawing. Eventually, I found a career teaching Art at Lake Worth High School. In 2016, my colleague, Jennifer Gironda, was creating a work of art a day and challenged me to do the same. Previously, my work was all over the place. More like a body of academic explorations and less an cohesive body of work. By accepting the daily challenge I was forced to organize my creative time and process to complete the daily task. Over the next 2 years I developed over 700 Surf art by Brent works of art and launched Surf Art by Brent as an LLC. Selling original surf art as well as prints, shirts, hats and other art related products. Since that time I have explored other mediums, painting on surfboards and skate board decks, murals and currently working with mixed media , cardboard assemblage surf art pieces. I feel that my journey as an artist is a work in progress and an opportunity to explore something new.

Brent, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Brent Bludworth. Surfer and Artist, Born, Raised and Live in Lake Worth Beach Florida. I create and sell original surf inspired artwork/products. Drawings, paintings, Mixed Media, clothing apparel. Graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 with a degree. Currently, teaching AP Art / Design ,in year 29, at Lake Worth High School.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

One of my immediate goals is to update my website to an online store. Long term is to become a recognized Brand in the surf industry, Like Hurley or mentioned in the same breath as surf artists Drew Brophy, Ronald Croce and Jay Alders.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

My whole life has been a journey. Each step a lesson learned along the way. I have been lucky to have surrounded myself with creatives and supportive people. Only since 2016 , when I started creating a work of art a day, did I really start to figure out who I was. An Artist/Surfer. Ever since then I have found making art daily easy.
