Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brendan Bradshaw. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brendan, appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
At the very beginning, I was BAD!
I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t know how to properly frame a subject or how to compose a story within a scene. These things really never came to me until I had discovered what inspires me to want to take a photo and capture a moment. I had to expose myself to a lot of different styles of photography and mediums to learn and understand framing, composition, and of course lighting. Along my journey through understanding this craft my biggest hurdle is trying to stay motivated. Something I still struggle with.

Brendan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Brendan Bradshaw, I am a Photographer. I specialize in Automotive and Event photography. My style is aimed to give off a cinematic and film-like feel. I grew up with watching lots of movies as a child and it inspired me to replicate and execute similar styles and feelings when creating art. My work, I believe, is made to evoke those same feelings I felt as a child watching my favorite movies on cassette tape. I watch to capture this moment as if it were a scene from a movie on the silver screen.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think, like most at the beginning, that they were sort of a cool idea in concept. But later on it just got terribly ridiculous and stupid.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Within my automotive community, people on social media would post weekly meet-ups at specific locations. When starting out, I would go to these “meets” and take numerous photos of cars and would later that night, immediately post them to social media within that specific “meet-up” group so that owners could see a nice photo of their car. I just wanted to do something that I felt was cool and I wanted to share it with everyone that I could and thought would care about. I think a lot of people resonated with that and they wanted me to succeed and I ended up making friends with many of them.
