We recently connected with Brenda Ramírez and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Brenda, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
When I first started with Que Botanas, I always made sure my customers felt appreciated if they came frequent by giving them an extra item or small discount. Until today I always offer exclusive discounts to My Instagram and Facebook followers. We do have giveaways about once a month as well.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started working from home and doing fruit platters and Tamarindo Dip back in 2019. Since I was working full time it was getting out of hand to fulfill so many orders after work. I started adding more and more things to my menu and My husband stepped in to help but still the orders coming in was greater each time. 2020 was when we started and got our first Food truck. I believe that what sets us apart from others is our product. We are a bit perfectionists. It’s hard to keep track of all orders but we always want to make sure each order is perfect.
We are very proud to offer such a variety of Appetizers. Mini pancakes, and now slowly adding Food with the cold season upon us.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I’ve always been an entrepreneur. I loved it since I was a kid, I was your girl with the backpack full of candy and Chips going around in class. My dad always said it’s business and you’re doing good if you make more than what you invested. Working 8-5pm is hard. But working 8-5pm for 60 years is even harder. I started selling more during covid with all precautions, and I became very popular in our small town that we had no choice than to actually go do it full time, licensed and insured. It has been a great decision.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I’ve read many books in my younger years, also hung out with many great mentors 24-7. They changed my whole mentality for the great. Robert K – Rich dad poor dad
Was one that stuck with me for a while.
Think and Grow Rich was also a great book.
I recommend these two to anyone.
