We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Breezie Castell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Breezie below.
Breezie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
This is a combination of craziest story and unexpected problem. Entrepreneurs often give away things for free and it can add up a lot. One time there was a discrepancy on the scope of a project so I broke down all the services and products my client had received. It turns out the free things I kept doing for this client totaled almost $3k. Obviously I wasn’t charging her for the extra work, I just wanted to break down the actual value of what had been delivered. She wound up sending me a $1500 tip just as a thank you. So the lesson here is to keep track of what you’re giving away for free and also make sure your clients and customers know what happens behind the scenes so they know how much you appreciate them. It might earn you an extra $1500!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Breezie Castell and I help women entrepreneurs with their online marketing.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
It starts with a genuine care about what I do. That’s why people say follow your passion. Your passion turns into your competitive edge. Some mornings I’m up at 3 am because an idea comes to mind and I’m too excited to sleep. My clients know I go to bat for them, so they don’t want to go with other marketing companies. I’ve built a powerful network of trusted professionals so I can help my clients even with services I don’t offer. I still have, and remember every single logo I’ve ever designed.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
There have been two times since 2011 I have thought my business would tank. Both times I was going through something so upsetting that it was almost impossible for me to focus. I was panicked, I felt like my clients were not happy, I felt doomed. And time was just passing. How I dealt with it was the only way I knew how, I just was as transparent as I could be while remaining professional and tried to deliver as best I could. I made it out stronger both times.
