Bree, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
When I started college, I was a business economics major at my parents’ request. Knowing I had a love for movies and cinematography, I snuck and took a few film classes as well. Well, I ended up failing my business classes and aceing my film courses. After that, I changed my major to film and minored in photography, and I’ve never looked back!
Bree, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hey my name is Bree Vaz. I am a 28 yo cinematographer/photographer, based in the Atlanta area. I kinda fell into the industry in that I say I had no other marketable skillls so I decided to do this. But of course that’s a bit untrue. I started college as a business major bc its what my parents wanted. During my 1st year of uni I was a business major. I snuck behind my parents back and took film and art classes as well. After my 1st year I ended up with A’s in all my art classes and had failed all of my business courses. As you can probably imagine I changed my major and never looked back. Since then I have created my own production company, Bree Vaz Productions and have grown my passions into a career.
Now I capture moments, create something from nothing, and inspire the next generation of creatives
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the most rewarding part of being an artist is the ability to make something from nothing and the ability to make your dreams a reality as well as inspire thoughts, actions, and of course other artists

To be completely honest I dont get it. I dont understand why they have value, how it works, anything. To me its just too new. Or maybe I’m just getting old
