We recently connected with Breck Pribyl and have shared our conversation below.

Breck, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My journey started when I adopted Stewie, a tripaw rescue pup, in 2021. Through the years we have immersed ourselves in the dog-minded community of the Tampa Bay area, have created so many wonderful friendships, and have been a part of many inspiring events that give back to community. Stewie has been such an inspiration to me and he has taught me so much about patience, resilience, and never giving up, despite what setbacks may seem like roadblocks. I wanted to do something to honor him. I decided in early 2024 to host an adoption event called Plenty Of Paws, and to my surprise, raised nearly $5,000, which was given back to the five local rescues participating, and six pups were adopted. My heart was full and I decided the next day to make it official, continue to give back, and started the non-profit immediately.

Acutienamedstewie Inc., a nonprofit charity, missions to fundraise and promote visibility for dog community organizations, rescues, and businesses who strive to make the world a better place for rescue animals and their rehabilitation.

Breck, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a St. Pete. local and have always loved dogs. Since starting the nonprofit I have hosted/co-hosted several local events and virtual events and honestly, having a lot of fun along the way! Since starting officially in April of 2024, I have already been able to donate over $3000 to local dog shelters/rescues. I feel that what makes my non-profit unique is the flexibility of being able to donate to so many different organizations that need help. If I hear about a local rescue needing funds for a particular cause, I can immediately help and plan a specific fundraising event for them.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

It takes a lot of time and effort to build an audience on social media and my primary outlet is Instagram. I have learned that you can not rush when posting an important event. You must research timing, hashtags, and be as creative as you can be to pull viewers into your caption. My advice to a company that is just starting out, is to plan on taking it twice the amount of time you think it will. But be patient but also be consistent! Out of sight is out of mind, so post more often that you think you should!

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

I am a one-women operation so keeping positive moral up for only myself is challenging at times. I find it beneficial to have time for myself and to spend quality time with my dogs away from the company’s objectives. You have to be whole within in order to provide with you whole heart to others.
