We were lucky to catch up with BreAuna Campbell recently and have shared our conversation below.
BreAuna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I started doing makeup in 2019 on myself. At the time I worked for a group home company 2-12 most days out the week, and each day I carried a duffel bag and ring light to work to practice different makeup looks. I documented my journey for all my peers to see good or bad.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is BreAuna, but my brand name is BrXBE. It’s an acronym for brandingxbeauty. I got into makeup actually doing marketing and creating content for other local brands. From branding I realized how creative and engaged I was in the look of everything and from there I got into makeup. After falling in love with makeup I decided to go to esthetician school and after that it was UP!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
First off let’s just be honest, social media is the biggest outlet and free at that. But there is no marketing like word of mouth honey. Personally a lot of my clients came from a previous client and I’m so thankful.
Have you ever had to pivot?
In the beauty industry today things are so ever changing and we’re given the opportunities to really learn from each others post, mistakes and wins. I’m in a transitional period in my life so my business is being effected and it’s scary cause you really never know untill you try. I’m currently making the move to Cleveland Ohio and looking for a new space for BrXBE and just hoping I can prosper in new territory.
