Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to BreAshia Bonner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
BreAshia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successfully takes a lot of sacrificing, hard work and dedication. I don’t like the saying “Success won’t happen over night” because you can literally be broke today and rich tomorrow. In order to be successful you have to do things you’ve never done before, take risk, and know exactly what is is you are chasing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
“The customer is always right”
I worked in customer service for 7 years as a call center agent and this is something that was taught in training to maintain a good relationship with the customer. When I started my own business I figured out quickly that thinking a customer is right all the time is the quickest way to drain your business. Its okay to reject a customer/client if you feel he/she is not the client/customer for you, your price is your price, and your expertise is what you have as an advantage over the customer/client as they are seeking assistance or service from you. The saying “all money may not be good money” is something I live by daily.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
When I first became a business owner I had imposter syndrome. I knew I wasn’t popular so I got discouraged thinking how would people support me when they didn’t know me. Your biggest supporters will be strangers. It will be a hand full of people you know that will support your business without looking for a discount. I started posting on social media, wearing my brand myself and received support from people and my local city. As time grew many more people started supporting me.
Never stop posting on social media. You never know who may be watching.
