Breanna, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
One of the biggest trends I see in my industry is becoming more transparent about treatments and directing our treatment focus toward a more educational and comfortable experience. When the aesthetic industry first started booming, it felt as if it was a big secret to get “work” done and one of the most encouraging turn of events in the past 5 or so years is the transparency found in getting injectables or investing in medical grade skincare. We are all now much more open about treatments we receive and what we recommend. With this openness I have found an opportunity to provide intentional patient education with our treatments. I can vividly remember going to get my Hydrafacial at a medical spa and feeling extremely intimidated, not only was I lacking education at that point in time, but I felt as though I never got the opportunity to be educated on why this treatment was right for me, what I could expect, and what to look toward for future treatments. With the emergence of aesthetic I am proud to say Skin Wise tased pride in educating our clients on what we are doing for them, why we chose the treatments, their expected outcomes, and what they can look forward to in future treatments. The transparency of the aesthetic industry has led to highlighting the importance of education in treatments and informed decision making and we are here for it!
Breanna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Breanna Wise-founder of Skin Wise, wife, mother of two, and lover of a perfectly curated latte. If you’ve found yourself here you’ve stumbled upon what I consider to be my true muse. With a background in intensive care and dermatology, I think my work as an aesthetic injector and owner of Skin Wise combines my all-encompassing love of art and science.
I created Skin Wise to provide an aesthetic experience I couldn’t find, and knew I’d love, right here in Southwest Missouri. Skin Wise is intentionally cultivated on my conservative approach to the industry. My ultimate goal is to provide a safe and transparent place to receive treatments that enhance how you look, and ultimately, how you feel. When I created Skin Wise, I dreamed of it being a place unlike any other in our area. I wanted to cultivate a feeling of luxury, while also creating a sense of comfort. I wanted a team that embodied knowledge but felt like talking to a best friend. A dreamy place where you can kick your feet up and feel your best self.
Skin Wise hones in on its all-encompassing treatment plans, and we pride ourselves on educating our clients on the most personalized and best-suited treatments. As a team, we push results over revenue and specialize in luxury treatments that are intentional and approachable.
We are most known for our intentional and well-thought treatment plans, knowledgeable staff, relationships with clients, and cozy chic office space. We take a lot of pride in truly caring for our clientele, listening, and providing the upmost professional care.
As the owner, I am most proud of the reputation we are building as a brand. I feel that Skin Wise is the best up-and-coming place to receive treatments in SWMO, including: maximal skin health, acne, injectables, and more.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I started out working and growing a small medical spa in our area. I began as the secondary injector and quickly began to grow the business and clientele. I soon took on the role of management, day-to-day operations, and lead injector. After growing the business 500% in a single year I really felt like I was moving in the right direction; however, after deciding to start a family I realized that working for someone else posed many challenges. This was the time I decided I needed to pivot and open my own business. I was absolutely terrified that the risk would be too much, especially after starting a family; however, the best decision I ever made was to bet on myself for success. Take the risk!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Narrowing down your niche and staying true to yourself. Showing up in your authentic self will always be the best outcome, now a days many people can see through the facade of a false agenda. I have continued to stay true to myself and the way I do treatments and it has helped me find my ideal clientele and continue to be successful.
