We were lucky to catch up with Brea Mone’ recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
The most recent risk I’ve taken is moving out of state with my 2 kids, by myself, for the second time. I did it in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic but I only had my son then. I moved to Georgia to start my career all over from what I left back home in Indianapolis, IN. I built my brand from 0 in Indy for over 10 years & I just decided I wanted something different, I was tired of the same things,I Love my clients but I did want something different.
Brea, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Yes, My name is Brea Mon’e I am 31, I have a few businesses I operate, I am a licensed cosmetologist. With that comes other things I am a hairstylist, I do massages, facials, & make-up. I have my own hair care line called E Jace Revive Biomineral Hair Care System , a luxury extension hair line,lipgloss and lash line. I also do other things that I am bringing to the forefront like teach classes for others who want to learn a new skill as far as any hairstyles that I do I teach others how-to , I also do business startup help, resume revamps or create 1 and help with job searches specifically remote/ work from home positions. My new venture is YouTube, getting into that side of things now.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had a major pivot in my life and career in 2020. When I decided to leave my hometown and start fresh in Georgia. I had to start all over and learn a new city, a big city at that. Get new resources. meet new people. It was a major pivot for me but also has been teaching me a lot along the way.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Stay consistent,showing up and being able to build relationships with my clients, and having great customer service. Being able to actually talk to your clients they love that you are always prompt, on time and if you do make a mistake they understand if you make accommodations and take accountability
