We recently connected with Braxton Floyd and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Braxton, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.

As a music producer, I understand there is what everyone loves, and there’s the industry standard. I try to keep the sound that is booming right now in my pocket just in case, but I focus more on trying to push my own sound. Ultimately, I strongly believe that that’s what separates me from musicians who are doing the same thing as the other.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a music producer. I produce instrumentals across many different genres, and keep trying to find new ones to build my skills on. I also it’s in the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in hopes to become a successful audio engineer. In that case, I would work out of the studio providing recording sessions to solo artists, bands, orchestras , you name it.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

my goal is to make my mother proud, and give her one more thing to brag about. I worked in retail for my first job in my hometown, and everyone knew my mom. To be honest, I never heard the end of it. My mom is always posting about me on Facebook and sharing my accomplishments with family and friends. So to answer the question I’d have to say that making my mother proud and giving her more things to brag about is what drives me every single day.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?

2023 alone I totaled my first two cars. Both of these were instances that I oddly were able to walk out of. To this day I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I do believe that it’s the universe trying to tell me that I am here for a reason. I personally choose to believe that it’s to make people happy through music. Whether I have success in it or not, I’ve chosen to go down this path time, and time again.
