We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Braveaux a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Braveaux, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I made was investing into craft. I’m a recording artist so during Covid, studios were shut down and I couldn’t record . During this time I built my own home studio and studied what I like to call YouTube university. I spend hours each day watching videos on how to record myself and how to mix records the right way. This was one of the best investments I made for many reasons such as I can record at my own pace and I don’t have to worry about how much time left in the session, I can record whenever I want, and I don’t have to pay for studio time so I can redirect tho funds to other things such as marketing. It also helps me when I go to studios now because I can better explain to an engineer this is the sound I want and it makes for better collaboration.

Braveaux, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Braveaux I’m from New Orleans, LA, and I’m a rapper. I got into music at a young age from being in the band in middle school to taking an interest in rapping in high school. One day one of my best friends calls me and says he signed a record deal, now I don’t know why I believed him because I never knew him to make music but being young and gullible I went with it. We started writing songs daily and I took a liking to it. It was the first time I was able to express myself the way I wanted and for me it was the one thing I felt I was great at. I just kept writing perfecting my own lane. In college I landed a record deal with a local label, it didn’t last long because of miscommunications however after that ended I released a mixtape called “Nothing To Lose Everything To Gain”. A few days after dropping the mixtape the feedback was great, I remember classmates quoting lyrics to me and that’s when I knew I had something. I pride myself on my lyrical ability so whenever someone quotes my lines it’s a great feelings. I believe people connect with my music because I’m not a braggadocios rapper, I speak on everyday life for the average person and I think people can see themselves in the pictures I paint. I make a range of music because people go through a range of emotions and I want my supporters to know I go through it too. It’s not always about popping bottles and partying, most times I’m chilling with friends so I make the music I want to hear when for that moment.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, so one of my favorite artists Curren$y has a label called JET Life and it stands for Just Enjoy This Life and that all I want. The driving factor on this journey is to enjoy life by the rules I set.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is when people appreciate your art and creativity. As an entertainer I get to see the reactions in real time when I’m performing. When I’m in front of a crowd I can see the people in the room who are locked in enjoying what I do. When I’m on stage and I see people singing along or dancing, when I’m coming off stage and people are asking for pictures, to follow me on social media, or simply just saying they loved my show, that’s what I do it for.
