Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brant Shih. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brant , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Yes, I do manage our social media account. There are couple reason why I manage the account on my end because I spend a lot time in the business and I can update the newest news immediately. Our customers follow our account closely so they are aware of how to find most our current events, promotions via our instagram, Facebook page. I found that most our customers love to see the products photo with the store interior as background instead of aN editorial setting. Perhaps we have a very beautiful and unique interior that is what drawn people come to our place.
Brant , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My husband and I got into this B&B business about two years ago, we have never done any hospitality works or own a hospitality related business before, we are just two creative people who love to meet people and host celebrations with friends and family. We moved out from NYC while the pandemic was happening so it is definitely a risky adventure but we got this, step by step, we slowly developed an amazing and welcome space for our guests and to the community. We have a coffee shop inside of the lodge that open to the public as well. We are a modern B&B hotel that provide not only the comfort and cozy space and our breakfast option has always been the highlight of our guest review. Also, we are a event venue host weddings and events. We have a beautiful garden space and ground that always been the reason why we are unique venue and we are still adding more amenity to the business such as complimentary yoga, in-room body treatment and campfire with S’more treat and so on. We are a safe space for everyone that LGBTQAI+ friendly.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my co-owner, also my husband, about 6.5 years ago in NYC. We were on a long distance relationship when I was still living in Melbourne, Australia ,and he was living in NYC. I remember that I would come to the state four times in the year of 2016 to see him and he would take me on many short trips include the trip to his hometown to meet his parents.
