We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandy Simpson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandy below.
Brandy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
My hero is my mom and dad because they always take care of me and help’s me no matter what. They teach me to never give up, even when something feels really hard, like homework or learning a new sport. One lesson I learned from my dad is to keep trying until I get it right. My mom tells me to be kind to other people because kindness makes the world better.
My mom has influenced me by showing me that hard work and being nice can take you far. When I see her working on her custom clothing business it makes me want to do the same. I want to grow up and be strong, smart, and caring just like my parents.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! My name is Brandy and I’m 9 years old.
I started making bracelets because I really like beads and colors, and I thought it would be fun to make things that people can actually wear. At first, I just made them for my family and friends, but then more people wanted them, so I decided to turn it into a little business.
I make all kinds of bracelets—beaded ones, stretchy ones, and ones with charms. Some of them are just for fun, but a lot of people order them with names or special colors that mean something to them. I think that’s what makes my bracelets different—each one is made with love and can be personal for whoever wears it.
The problem I solve is helping people find something simple but special to wear or give as a gift. A bracelet can make someone smile, remember something important, or even just match their outfit better.
I’m most proud that even though I’m a kid, I started something on my own and people really like it. It shows me that age doesn’t matter—you can always try your best and do something you love.
What I want people to know about my brand is that every bracelet is handmade by me, and I put care into each one. They’re not just bracelets—they’re little pieces of happiness!

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
Well, I didn’t really have a lot of money because I’m only 9, so my mom and dad helped me. They bought me my first beads, string, and charms so I could get started. I told my mom the idea and she thought it was really good, so my parents said they would be my “investor” (that’s a fancy word my mom taught me).
I started making bracelets with the supplies they got me, and then when I sold some, I used the money to buy more beads and strings. So now it kind of pays for itself, but my parents was the ones who made it possible in the beginning.
I guess you could say they believed in me before anyone else did, and that made me believe in myself too.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started, my mom posted my bracelets on her Facebook and told her friends. Then her friends shared it, and more people saw them. I also took pictures of the bracelets myself and showed them on TikTok and Instagram with fun music. People like seeing the colors and how I make them.
My advice is to just be yourself and have fun with it. Don’t worry about being perfect—just show what you love to do. Also, post often so people don’t forget about you. And always be kind when people comment or ask questions, because then they’ll want to come back and see more.
