Alright, Brandy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?

I definitely wish I had started my business earlier. Although I began part time in 2010 alongside other jobs, it wasn’t until 2017, after graduating aesthetic school, that I fully dedicated myself to building my brand. Juggling single parenthood and being 37 years old, success became paramount. Starting earlier would have allowed me to pursue my passion sooner as well as gain more knowledge and experience allowing me to be further along in my career. Establishing myself before becoming a single parent might have provided better opportunities, but the struggle forced me to work even harder.

Brandy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I began my journey into airbrush tanning as a part-time endeavor from my home, gradually transitioning to offering my services at a salon. I found immense satisfaction in enhancing people’s confidence, particularly on significant occasions. This experience ignited my passion for helping individuals in improving their self-perception and led me to pursue formal education in aesthetics.

During my schooling, my son encountered health challenges that landed him in the hospital several times. Conventional medical advice recommended multiple medications at a very young age that didn’t quite sit well with me. Seeking alternative solutions, I consulted a holistic practitioner in New York, which led to significant improvements. We started to incorporate dietary adjustments emphasizing organic, gluten-GMO free whole foods, coupled with stress releasing techniques, lymphatic movement, & even positive affirmations. This transformative experience stressed the importance of eliminating toxins for overall health, prompting me to start removing toxic skincare and haircare products.

Determined to integrate holistic principles into my aesthetics practice, I made it my mission to offer clean skincare products and holistic services aimed at promoting well-being beyond surface-level concerns. Recognizing the connections of physical and mental health, I obtained certification as an integrative health practitioner, enabling me to address my clients’ needs comprehensively, from skincare to stress management and beyond.

I make it a point to regularly communicate with my clients, ensuring their progress with treatments and protocols aligned with their goals. I prioritize authenticity in my interactions, offering advice that emphasizes their well-being without necessarily promoting additional purchases. It is crucial for my clients to recognize that their skin and wellness goals/advancement remain my primary focus.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The most significant avenue for acquiring new clients has been through word-of-mouth referrals. Client testimonials and reviews have played a pivotal role in driving interest and trust in my services. The positive feedback from satisfied clients has notably influenced individuals seeking the services I provide, motivating them to reach out and engage with my offerings.
