We were lucky to catch up with Brandon Verdun recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brandon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I definitely see AI (artificial intelligence) making a huge splash and disrupting multiple industries.
Not just relating directly to graphic arts or artists in general but the entire creative process. From the birth of an idea to the marketing strategy all the way to a finished product.
I can honestly say A.I. has actually helped my company stay in line with what customers & clients truly want.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always been a creative type, growing up in a family business that was an art gallery & jewelry store. Learning at a young age not just what might look good or have basic color coordination but the entire process of running the business. These tools have been invaluable throughout my life and I can see where I’m able to apply them on a daily basis.
Having numerous opportunities I was lucky to make a decent living as a “social media content creator” over a decade ago for multiple cannabis based brands. Being able to evolve that entirely over the years has been an amazing journey. I’ve mostly enjoyed the “green rush” we are still witnessing within the cannabis industry. Recently branching off in the last 5 years taking clients in the pet food & supply, gardening & landscaping, party & event planning, as well as some clients in the adult film industry
For the past 2 years I have been working directly with large scale live music events & concert/festivals. Creating graphics for much of the marketing leading up to event and many of the main stage graphics seen on the massive screens.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I completed had to pivot, not just my career but my entire life. When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in November 2010 I had no idea it would progress so fast.
Before taking graphic arts more serious I was a successful baker in Arizona’s newly formed cannabis industry. Plus I owned & operated a company that delivered correspondence between financial institutions and their clients in over 10 states.
Once my health began to decline I had to think long & hard what I wanted to do.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Never stop continuously educating yourself. The moment I think I’ve learned everything is the same moment I lose it all.
