We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandon Tackett. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandon below.
Brandon, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
What do I want people to say about me when I’m gone? That’s honestly something I think about all the time with every creative Endeavor that I do. Whether it’s a photography piece, a video peace, or even things involving fashion and styling. I always think about what people will say in the future not even just in the present, what will people say when I’m gone about the things that I’ve done and left behind? I hope what it said is that I inspired someone to believe in their dream enough to chase it and manifest it to reality. I hope what is said is that I carried myself in a way that inspired but also gave someone else confidence. I hope my faith shines enough to show that you can do anything that you dream of if you put God first. But I think overall what I want my legacy to be is one of inspiration I hope to inspire everyone that comes after me and some shape fashion or form.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a photographer and overall designer. Photography is the medium that I use to create but overall I think I would be considered a creative designer. Fashion design and styling, interior design and staging, these are vehicles that I use to create and express my art but my business is founded on the profession of photography. I got my start in photography by working with a local photographer assisting with creative Direction for him and a few of his projects. From there I gained an interest in learning photography. I knew that while I wanted to do photography my main interest was fashion wanting to be a part of the fashion industry in some shape and form. So I chose editorial/fashion photography as my Niche or preferred type of photography. Throughout the years I’ve evolved my business to include video work allowing me to assist Brands and entrepreneurs with creating their visual image more specifically their online image.

Any advice for managing a team?
I often have multiple team members on a photography project whether that be a hair stylist, makeup artist or a wardrobe stylist, Etc. What I’ve learned in managing people is making sure that your communication is Elite. Making sure that you are communicating with your team the expectation for the project and your expectation for them concerning the client. I try to make sure that I keep myself open and available for my team to be able to talk to me whether it be about personal issues they may be experiencing or anything that can better the project. Communication would be my key factor in managing a good team.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect for me would be affecting people. Creating something that makes people feel some type of way positive or even negative. I think the ability to garner people’s emotions is powerful, emotions are powerful. So being able to create something that invokes emotion that’s rewarding.
