Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandon Stoliker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Growing up I have always been fascinated by music, how it’s composed, performed, etc.
So throughout my childhood, I had developed a knack for music, the timing, keys, Melodie’s and from there I was able to understand the elements of writing my own music.
It wasn’t until I turned 21 when I started to take it more serious, taking online courses, buying equipment, and just going for it.
So for the next 5 years, I would obsess over learning the fundamentals of sound, until I felt like I was ready for the public eye.
That’s when I knew it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Brandon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey, I’m Brandon, I go by the stage name “Stolli” and I’ve been a Melodic Dubstep artist for about 13 years now.
I was first introduced into the scene by a local friend that had grown up in the same city as me, but moved to Ottawa Ontario.
It was a local monthly event called “Ritual”.
This was my first step into the professional scene, where it wasn’t just a bar, it was an organized lineup to represent a brand.
Taking part in this event sealed my fate in the music scene, and ultimately leading me into hundreds of shows, many festivals, and other organized events. I fell in love immediately, seeing everyone enjoy themselves, happy, without a worry in the world.
The beautiful thing about music, is every artist is different. Every artist has their own personality, and they get to portray that on stage, and I think being able to express yourself musically is one of the most exciting features about shows, you learn a lot about people through music.
I am most proud of the health of our music scene, it is thriving. Festivals all over the planet are taking place, local shows, live shows online, etc.
What I would want people who aren’t familiar with me yet would be to never give up on what you want to do.
I’ve been a musician a long time and something I always try to pass on is the energy it gives.
If you ever get the chance to see me perform, you will see the energy, emotion, and happiness I portray.
Whether it’s the crowd jumping up and down, or headbanging, everyone in that moment is united and happy.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Sharing that moment in time with people.
The world can be tough sometimes, but when everyone is united with music, it’s amazing.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I believe that society can help the scene so much more by accepting the community.
Music is diverse, not everyone is going to like every genre of sound, but keeping an open mind about the types of music would definitely improve the creative ecosystem.
