My journey in healthcare spans over two decades, beginning with my roots as a Registered Nurse, where I gained valuable experience in ICU, Med/Surg, and outpatient environments. My early career was marked by hands-on patient care, particularly in the abdominal transplant space, where I developed a deep understanding of complex healthcare delivery systems.
In 2013, I transitioned to a role as a Transplant Case Manager, where I collaborated with various stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes while optimizing cost-effective care delivery. This experience proved invaluable as it honed my skills in healthcare operations and relationship management. My career then took an innovative turn when I joined a software company as a Senior Client Success Executive, where I managed client relationships and leveraged my healthcare expertise in the technology sector.
The pivotal moment in my career came in 2021 when I made a bold decision to leave the corporate world and venture into aesthetic medicine. I established M-PWR Consulting Solutions LLC, serving as an independent aesthetic healthcare consultant. This transition led to a significant role as the fractional Aesthetic Practice Manager at Aiyana Atelier Studios in Virginia, where I applied my diverse background to optimize daily operations, enhance client experience, and implement effective marketing strategies.
Recognizing the need for professional development and community building in the aesthetic practice management space, I have taken on several leadership roles within the industry. I serve as faculty for the American Med Spa Association (AmSpa) and Aesthetic Next conferences, sharing my expertise through business talk tracks at conferences and business bootcamps. My commitment to advancing the field led me to co-found the Aesthetics Injector Gang Podcast in 2023, creating a platform for industry professionals to share insights and experiences.
Perhaps one of my most significant contributions to the field is the establishment of the Aesthetic Practice Management Group (APMG), a virtual mastermind community that connects and empowers practice managers across the nation. This initiative demonstrates my dedication to fostering collaboration and professional growth within the aesthetic medicine industry.
Most recently, I have continued to evolve in the aesthetic profession by founding MPWR Aesthetics and Wellness in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where I combine my clinical expertise with business acumen to deliver exceptional patient care and results. I also contribute to the Injector Business Blueprint podcast, providing valuable insights to help aesthetic practitioners build and scale their practices.
Throughout my career evolution, I have maintained my commitment to continuous learning and adaptation, exemplifying how healthcare professionals can successfully pivot and innovate within the rapidly evolving aesthetic medicine industry. My journey from bedside nursing to becoming a recognized thought leader in aesthetic practice management showcases the value of combining clinical expertise with business acumen to drive industry advancement.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Each of these transitions has reinforced the importance of staying adaptable and maintaining a growth mindset. While there were moments of uncertainty and doubt, these challenges have shaped my approach to both leadership and clinical practice. Opening MPWR Aesthetics and Wellness in Greensburg, Pennsylvania has been my latest evolution – combining my clinical expertise with the business acumen I’ve developed over the years. While establishing a new medical aesthetics practice comes with its own set of unique challenges, from regulatory compliance to team building to patient acquisition, the experiences from my previous roles have prepared me well for this endeavor. This journey has continually taught me the value of embracing change, remaining curious, and always being willing to learn from both successes and setbacks. I’ve found that maintaining this perspective not only benefits my own practice but also allows me to better serve and support other professionals in the aesthetic medicine industry through my various educational and community-building initiatives.
