We were lucky to catch up with Brandon Logan recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brandon , appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?

Well I just wish I didn’t give up on it so soon. I wasnt disciplined just didn’t think I was worth investing that much into myself

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

How I become a filmmaker was out of necessity, I wasn’t getting enough callback for my reel, so I took a chance on myself and begin self teaching myself with various lectures from udemy and YouTube videos I learned some camera and editing techniques. Then during the pandemic I made the bold choice of finally getting a dlsr Camara a Panasonic lumix g7 with a kit lens. I begin networking through gigs I would get through casting agency websites and started learning and doing projects for A107studios. Working with them has helping strengthen my brand I’ve won several awards in film festivals and have been nominated and selected . I’ve also provided short scenes at reasonable rate for beginner to intermediate actors I also provide writing and editing for an additional fee. Also I’m always looking for new talent to cast in my short films.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

Probably the investing in yourself and doing things for free or exposure. Are taking bold risk with certain projects, It feels rewarding when you do finally get compensation for your talent no matter the amount someone paid you for your skill.

Have you ever had to pivot?

My parents wanted me to go the military but I didn’t go. I realized that I wasn’t doing it for me but for them so they would be proud of me and for me dropping outta of high school. But I saw signs that keep me away like being lied to by a recruiter on what my requirements was needed.
