Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandon Laubhan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brandon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
I played college baseball and graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine. I moved back to Las Vegas and realized early on that the 9 to 5 was not for me. Why?
In sports you work on your skills daily and if you grind, there is no limit to how much you can improve and succeed.
9 to 5 was a paycheck. I wanted more and believed I could achieve any goal if I put in the work.
I went to church and joined the media team. I had never picked up a camera before.
I fell in love with the camera and the creative aspect of storytelling.
On January 2, 2018, my parents and I started a production company. My dad learned the business side, LLC, licenses, insurance, liability and I spent every day learning my camera, watching YouTube and we took action daily to improve.
We made a free video for make a wish, the Las Vegas Aviators and sent them a copy. Both contracted us and we created these two relationships that allowed us to make money to continue to purchase better equipment, lighting, wireless mic’s and kept grinding. We still work with these organizations. It’s about creating relationships.
My first goal was to supplement my income. It took a year. My dad was a RE Broker, we decided to give free 1 hour seminars on how to create a social media presence through video. Every week we were talking to agents, title companies and within a month we had 5 or 6 paying clients that wanted videos for their listings.
As our company started growing we began to get referrals, was their adversity? Absolutely, you will fail several times. When you realize this is how you grow, you learn to improve your quality of content, service and time.
We both became 107 commercial drone pilots and started filming aerial drone footage. After our 3rd year, my dad retired from RE and worked full time in our company.
We concentrated on paying off our debt. Our company is debt free. This is a Hugh victory not having financial debt.
We have always learned from those who are better than us. How can we improve. Learn to get your EGO out of the way. and share your knowledge with those who have a desire to work hard and grind.
To this day, I post every day on Instagram, We have build 4 separate categories under Heartfelt Productions. We have a Wedding business, a real estate business, a drone business and a corporate/convention business. Why? If one goes down you still have three income sources working for you.
We add one area to our company, each year. I have three people working with us. 2 editors because this is where most of your time is spent and another videographer.
Keep your integrity, always improve, grind, teach and embrace your ability, attitude and smile.

Brandon , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Simon Sinek has a book called Know Your Why. I believe you need to find what you love and are so passionate about that your always thinking about it. Read books on motivation, what inspires you, I absolutely love what I do and the people We meet and places we go.
My dad and I were both athletes and know what discipline is. If you don’t have it, learn about it, find it in your soul. If you can’t be disciplined, it will devastate your business
In the beginning you take any job and grow, learn personality types so you recognize time wasters and draining people. You don’t need them, they will hurt your attitude.
What I am proud about is where our hard work has taken us and the people we get to meet.
We never compare ourselves with others, we learn from others, good and bad.
We try everyday to live our mission statement. We want to impact peoples lives through video and storytelling. Create impactful relationships and always give others the best of yourself.
Our core is, integrity, passion to provide the very best quality to our clients and always make it right for anyone who doesn’t receive your very best.
For us, the grind is real but so gratifying. It takes 3 to 5 years to build and sustain a successful business. Keep improving and add systems that help make your job easier. Keep your emotions between the lines and ask questions of people you respect but be willing to work hard.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I followed those that I respected and wanted my business to grow like theirs. I started posting everyday on Instagram, every day I make short content that will bring value to a follower, answer a lighting question, white balance on your camera because that’s how I learned. Then implement what you learned and practice. Everyday I learn.
I started with 1 post and have almost 300 now. I went to YouTube daily. Learn one thing, master it the best you can and go to something else. I’m the beginning your videos will suck but improve with how much you work on your craft.
Ever week after posting content we get leads and people have questions. We answer their questions.
Do something everyday but also spend time with those you love and respect.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Building systems immediately that will take the stress off you. Our first huge one was hiring an editor. Once I released the control and taught my style, our company doubled in income.
When you find someone who feels valued by you and works hard for you, pay them well. It will benefit them and you.
